Tip to tail is how we do the VB sometimes. Happy Happy! I still haven't been able to pick up any SN Celebration Ale yet and it's kinda gnawing at me seeing posts of it. And bottles. I want bottles of it not cans. We'll see how things pan out. Only 1 gas-burning pc of equip has been put away for the winter: Chain Saw. I recall Sawyer Brewing having some Chain Saw Squatch beers in their profile which were/are excellent.
Anyway, time for a brew. Destihl ILL - IPA 6.7% ABV helping to support the University of Illinois athletics and to ICON which provides assistance to student athletes. Wife picked it up in Rockford. Cheers!!

RAR Out Of Order Got Room For One More? Smoothie Fruited Sour, 5% ABV. Gushered, but having had RAR before, I opened over the sink, lost about 1/5 of it. Pours extremely thick mint-green with a one-finger mint-green head that left pastry cream instead of head. Aroma is sweet cream and blue raspberry. Taste follows, quite sweet, faint tartness. Thick and creamy mouthfeel, overall outstanding.

1) Surly Oktoberfest (6.0%): A Festbier from Minnesota with flavors of lemon, orange, sweet honey and bread Munich malts. Light floral notes.
versus
2) Weihenstephaner Festbier (5.8%): A German Festbier with flavors of pale malt, smooth honey, cereal, pale Munich malts. Smooth. (Correctly matched the two blind)

US vs German Festbier. First is Surly, one of the best from the US. Nice honey and toasted notes. Fantastic. Next is Weihenstephaner. Authentic Munich malt flavors are hard to beat.
Winner: Weihenstephaner
