Is there a confirmed length of time KBS is aged for? It can't possibly be more than 6 months.

You'll need to ask Founders if you want "confirmed", though they probably can't give you a definitive answer. When it was an occasionally released beer, Founders bragged that it was aged 12 months. Now that it's year round, time in the barrel reportedly varies, according to articles found by a Google search, because they blend batches aged for different lengths of time in barrels from different bourbons.

Appears Founders have a new IPA, Red Sweater IPA, which will see distro in canned 12 packs (as well as draft). Might be based off their Crystal Red IPA if anyone has had this locally. Sadly, it's not Red's Rye.
    • ABV 6.5%
    • IBUs 55
    • Availability November – December
    • Hops Chinook, Cascade, Centennial
    • Malts Pale, Crystal Red, Wheat
    • Tasting Notes Hoppy notes of pine and citrus, with light graham cracker malt character. Moderate bitterness, mild sweetness, and a crisp finish.

Go on their instagram page. They teased the red cans and asked people what they think it is … the response that got 20 likes (and asked for nicely by several different people) and no other suggestions got more than 3 “likes”… Reds Rye. By far and away the most requested beer in the comment section and founders doesn’t even act like they see it.
Maybe they’ll learn to listen when their sales continue to fall in the coming years.

just makes zero sense. “Ignore what people want and instead just give them 30 varieties of the same thing”.

CBS tasted better when it was a lot more rare.

Last week I visited the mothership. A highlight among very good beers sampled was Red’s Rye from tap. Great beer.

I definitely did a double-take when I saw CBS on shelves this morning after having just picked up a 6-pack of Lagunitas Shugga. I ended up buying both and have no complaints about being transported back to the 2010s of beer.

Any idea of the CBS distro footprint? Haven't seen it in IL yet

I haven't seen it at my one store yet where I live that usually gets some of these releases here in Michigan, and I'm 75 miles away from Founders. Maybe it came and went.

https://finder.vtinfo.com/finder/web/v2/iframe?custID=FBC shows a few spots near Rockford. Guessing the Chicago area distributor(s) deliveries are still pending? I would think we will start seeing next week...

Whoa - what is this cool tool that you provided? Is this for Founders only?

I see some Avery beers listed in the search drop-down as well. Likely due to Mahou-San Miguel relationship but, yeah, seems good to use for Founders beer. There was one very old thread where someone was compiling beer finder URLs for various breweries. Not sure how many still work but the Founders one does anyway.

Nor out here in the PNW. The last couple of drops, the beer didn't sell all that well, so I'm wondering just how much we're going to see (if any).

From what I've seen, most breweries aren't good at keeping their websites and Facebook updated, including distribution information, tap-lists, events, or lists of current beers. Some haven't been updated for years, and have dead links.
