What beer are you drinking now? #4777

Today, although it's cool and windy, it's very beautiful, out here in McGregor, and both Gracie and Sundae were more than pleased to help me investigate today's three new beers (it should be stated, that yesterday, I added a fourth beer to my usual three-a-day: My third brew from Royal Swinkels, of Lieshout, Netherlands--their 5% Bavaria Premium Beer...

First for today, it's my fifth from Town Brewery, of Whitby, Ontario--their 6.2% Square Wheels Hazy (or New England) IPA. It's shown, poured, with articles from the cult classics Bringing Up Baby (Howard Hawks, 1938); The Cannonball Run (Hal Needham, 1981); Carnal Knowledge (Mike Nichols, 1971); and Casino Royale (Val Guest, Ken Hughes, John Huston, Joseph McGrath and Robert Parrish, 1967), for no particular reason...



I wanted to select something particularly special for my second one, as it's, since I started my project of keeping track of my favourite hobby, and wanting to raise it to the next level just 18 months ago (on May 16, 2024), my 1000th different brew. So, it's my sixth of the handiworks of Brasserie McAuslan, from Montreal, Quebec--their 9.2% 2025 Vintage Ale...

Finally, from Flying Monkeys Craft Brewery, of Barrie, Ontario, it's my twentieth of their wares--their 10% Paranormal Imperial Pumpkin Ale...

The three beers are also shown bookending articles on the cult classics The Bed Sitting Room (Richard Lester, 1969); Best in Show (Christopher Guest, 2000); and Bottle Rocket (Wes Anderson, 1996), for purely abstract reasons...



Tomorrow: Three more new beers to explore, from the following breweries:
--Wellington Brewery (Guelph, Ontario; my fifth of their handiworks);
--Whitewater Brewing Co. (Cobden, Ontario; my fifth); and
--Willibald Farm Brewery (Ayr, Ontario; my fifth)...

Took my little Subaru to the shop this morning for a little trim fix. Not too far away. I'll need beers today and now-time seems right. Miller Lite. For some reason it drinks better for me outa the bottles vs the cans. I dedicate my beers today to my father's sister Marlene who passed away early this morning. Here's to you Molly. x infinity. Rest in peace.

I'm glad Teddy is enjoying his personal pizza today.

As someone from Chicago, I'd like to hear your and others perspective on Pepperoni. In Chicago. Milwaukee and Northern Indiana, people who order meat on their pizza typically order sausage (we order Cheese and Sausage, though I assume most beyond Connecticut assume Cheese is already part of the pizza).

My favorite sausage includes Fennel seeds, and perhaps the quality of sausage beyond our section of the country is not up to snuff. See Pizza **** Sausage.

Perhaps this is more a question for @eppCOS and others who have lived both in and beyond Chicago. Is Pepperoni the preferred meat topping by choice (fan favorite) or is it by default (preferred, perhaps more readily available, cheaper in terms of cost)?

Maplewood Sunshine & Smiles XPA (Citra cryo/Krush cryo). Clementine flesh and peel, big ripe mango, grapefruit peel, pine resin. Bright, clean, and crisp. On point for the style. Nice stuff.

 

A round of golf in 60 degree weather. Not bad for mid-November.

Love pizza! All kinds. NY, Chitown, European pizza with corn...blazing hot peppers, white sauce...it's all fine. However, I dislike fennel quite a bit. In fact I hate it. Sausage without fennel is great. And I grew up just South of Indy. Never liked it and of course I'm still talking about fennel (drum hit there) But I've found ways around it. There's a place in Normal, IL called Flinger's and their pies are dynamite and they have a cool craft beer tap tree. I had some tasty Italian sausage there that had very little to no fennel.

Thanks and yes,some humans aren't always deserving of great treatment. Professionally I treat everyone the same but just today I've already heard a few horror stories about how people get treated.
I just choose to be part of the answer and not the problem

 

Probably not the popular choice but if I eat sausage I think fennel adds a lot of enjoyable flavor.
Pizza ****...never heard that one before!

 

Every once in a while I have to take a break from a meeting that is either going in circles or simply ignoring reality.
Today was such a meeting that features both of those things. Fortunately for me my beer fridge is a mere 15 steps away.
