Excited by both the cuvee and the stave & spice. Keylime and lemon meringue treatments have generally been pretty successful. And I’m hoping Stave is close to the cuvee from 2018(?).

Had a coffee is life tonight and was very impressed. The barrel aging on the base provides a nice light bottom for the coffee to sit on top of. No bitterness.

I agree, the "Last Slice" from I believe 2018, was one of my favorite Bruery beers.

Opened a 2018 BT Reserve today. So good.

These BTs and BT Reserves are the only things that age as well as Bourbon County, and they probably age better when you get closer to 10+ years.

The ABV is so well hidden. Great nose and palate. Mouthfeel is just a bit thin, as typical of BT, but really not a negative.

I had a 2015 BT Reserve a few years ago that was just a touch better than this, but these are two of the best bottle I have opened in the past several years.

The sale preview last week showed Heavenly Blis, but it's not listed. I wonder if that was an error or if there's a second batch of sale items coming?

I opened a Blis last night to see how it's doing. Delicious. Would buy more.

Also had a Crumbfather a few days ago (which is on sale). Very enjoyable.

I was hoping to see Blis in the sale. I went ahead and placed an order since I had reached the free shipping limit. Looking forward to trying crumbfather and Tuesday morning. I also grabbed another Midnight Frost, I really enjoyed that one at the Tap room.

Opened a Pie Happy (2020). Truly excellent. Always loved this one, I think 2020 was my favorite iteration. Smooth, huge balanced flavor, nothing falling off, no oxidation.

They had to add them after I placed my order. Do they typically add beers like this during the sale? I'm wondering if I should wait and see if they add anything for black friday/cyber Monday.

Not during the normal monthly archive sales (it it is what it is) but the holiday sales usually have at least 2 phases.. not sure if there will be a 3rd..

I am looking to join the Reserve Society, included beers seem like a good lineup for the price and immediate access to society perks is a nice plus. I was curious if there is some kind of private online shop for society members to buy different bottles? Or is the online shop that I’m looking at right now as a non-member all the same bottles that members see? I do see some things marked as society exclusive, just curious if members see even more available items.

Members do have a private storefront... But I think the exclusives usually end up getting displayed on the public store as well.

They release new beers every month but remove them from the store at end of month. Then they pop up later in archive sales. So the number of unique beers is much higher than you see now. I think there's a minimum 50 different releases each year and maybe a third to a half are for members.

Be mindful whether you're looking at the Reserve subscription where you get new beers all thru next year vs the one that is 12 archive beers all at once. Either could be good just note the difference. I don't know if they earn the same member benefits or not.

I joined reserve recently. The beer listed in online store didn't change, but before I joined there was a number of bottles that were marked "members only" and I could not purchase those options. Once I joined all of those bottles are now available for me to purchase.

Looks like they've added some new options to the sale.

Opened a Forgotten Lore (Rye BT from Distiller's Box two years ago).

I'm enjoying it very much. I was so-so when it first came out. I'm now much more interested to see it on the slate for 2026 as a re-brew!

Fresh, the 21% was just too harsh. That edge is smoothed just enough now.

The body felt really thin before, but has a lot more texture now.

Ugh. Fucking UPS. I asked them to hold my shipment at a UPS Store nearby. For some reason they couldn't, but instead of trying me again or even asking they've decided to just return the shipment to the Bruery.

Man, same thing happened to me but I was able to intercept it before it left back to the Bruery.

I showed up to pick it up at the store and they couldn’t find it anywhere and they said maybe it’s at the hub which is closed to customers.

I went to the hub anyway and the dude was actually pretty nice and searched everywhere for the package. Finally he got on the radio and tracked it down on a truck on its way out. He actually had the guy turn around and when he got there we dug through the truck and found it.

It was hand written in sharpie ”Return to Sender” and circled aggressively like 5 times! He had no idea why that happened. In my mind it was some anti alcohol Karen who wanted to fuck with my beer!

    Damn, that's a helluva story!

UPS emailed me Tuesday morning saying they'd deliver by 9pm... But when I go look at the tracking log it says that at 5am they determined they couldn't reach me for alternate plans and were returning to sender.

It'll work out. I've already been in touch with Bruery team who are cool as always.
But apparently there's weird quirks in their shipping setup they can't control that prohibit redirecting. Word to the wise. I need to look into if maybe I can just put the UPS store as the shipping address...
