Continuing to whittle down this 12-pack. Not horrible but I won't be buying it again.

 

A very short work week is over for me. Starting the holiday with Beer for Dealing with Your Family from Off Color. A malt liquor(!) that looks fantastic, smells interesting, and at 12%abv tastes almost like pure alcohol. Let's hope things improve as the beer warms.

I went to a "friends of the library" sale last weekend and found a copy of their greatest hits, memories from days gone by. Enjoying this.

If it wasn't for Revo/Binny's collabs I'd never see the Deep Woods beers

 

Nice! That must be kill on tap

 

1) Drekker Metaphase (8.2% no canning date): A NEIPA from North Dakota with Citra & Nelson Sauvin for flavors of lemon and orange citrus, green citrus, grape, guava, and juicy pine
versus
2) WeldWerks Extra Extra Broccoli (8.3% canned 9/5/2025): A NEIPA from Colorado in collab with Other Half for flavors of bright orange, pineapple, tropical grapes, and sweet mango. (Correctly matched the two blind)

Drekker vs. WeldWerks IPA Battle. First is Drekker. Citra and Nelson. Great hop combo. One of the best from Drekker. Next is WeldWerks and Other Half combo with some mix of Broccoli and Juicy Bits. Great tropical hop flavors. Was hot and sweet for the first month, but has tamed and drinking incredibly smooth. Still a bit sweet, but the flavors have evolved complexity in it's 2nd and 3rd month. Still, a bit overly sweet for my liking, but better than I initially thought.
Winner: Drekker Metaphase

Small batch kielbasa with onions, peppers and thin sliced russet potatoes. One pan meal, easy cleanup
