Next up is Pugachev's Cobra from Hangar 24. This bottle is 11 years old. A Russian imperial stout brewed with maple syrup and aged in bourbon barrels. This vintage came with a 18.9% ABV. It has held up well! Cheers!

Food looks great!! Maybe it's just a temporary thing not serving beer, it sounds like they are still trying to get back on their feet. Cheers and have fun!

Damn - that's quite the storage - what stuck around as characteristics on this? Did it still have some maple taste to it, or was it largely just smooth, integrated, with barrel fade? Never heard of this. Hope things are good.

This was such a classic a decade ago. Big fish in a small sea of big barrel-aged stouts at the time. The maple is definitely still there, although not quite as much. Tons of black licorice, molasses, roasted malts, and charred wood. It retains some of the original characteristics, but has definitely lost some of the heat. The bourbon barrel is still detectable. Cheers!

I love Julios. I used to stop there once a week or every couple weeks. I had an account down there so I'd go to Julios and sometimes Total Wine in Shrewsbury. Julius always had the best selection. Always cutting edge.

What I really like is that you don't order off a menu. It is deli style and there are dozens of options. You can select any combination. But it's a shame they stopped serving draft beer.
