Tried this one last night at a friend's house. Anniversary Blend 2025 from Perennial. Blended Barrel-Aged Ale. 50% Wheatwine, 25% Rye Wine, and 25% Barleywine aged 19-48 months in Willett Rye, Stagg Jr, and Weller Bourbon. 13.4% ABV.

Poured at just warmer than fridge temp. Pours a nice dark brown with minimal head. The nose is full of dark toffee, bourbon, figs, brown sugar, and plums. Very nice.

The taste generally follows the nose. Fairly sweet. Bourbon, toffee, slight spice, raisins, figs, and prunes. Boozy but not overly so. Very nicely balanced.

For the Packers - Bears game I drank a 500ml bottle of Foxtown Cuvee 25. 13.5% A strong ale aged in different barrels. I estimate the bottle is about 11 months old. I picked it up last Black Friday at the taproom. I finished drinking it about half way thru the 3rd Qtr.

Smells very good, plum, grape, red wine. Sweet.
Taste is deep plum, grape, red wine, then oak and vanilla on the finish. After it warmed up there was a hint of raisin or rye. Very smooth beer. slightly sweet. The alcohol is very well hidden. I liked this one better on the cool side. As the barrel got stronger and deep plum got weaker when it got on the warm side.
Feel is smooth not really thin or thick, low carbonation

Nice beer I will give it a 4.24/5 overall.

Second to last can, this might be better than Bigfoot. Hope they release it again...

This is my last Dapper from Goose. Barleywines are always in short supply in my neck of the woods.

Last of the new to barleywines from Jackie, Part of Eternity.

Lots of good stuff going on here, caramel drizzled figs soaked in bourbon, quite a sweet treat. In the background though is kind of medicinal root beer, faint but a bit distracting. Very good overall though.

Alluvial Double Barrel Murder, She Oat Barleywine from Ames, Iowa.
Appearance: Super viscous pour, takes a long time to fill the glass. Very dark brown, a head tries to form but can't muster enough foam.

Smell: Deep caramel, wood, vanilla, surprisingly not boozy.

Taste: Thickness from the pour shows immediately in the mouth. Then rich caramel followed by somewhat woody barrel. The booze comes in near the finish, a little strong. Finish is a combination of the sweet caramel and booze.

Overall: Double barrel Murder, She Oat is probably the thickest beer I've had. The regular version was thick and this ramps it up a level. Very tasty but the booze does come on pretty strong near the finish. If I had a few more bottles I'd sit on them for a year or two, but I probably won't be in Ames until next football season. Good stuff!

Colonel Taylor Bigfoot, double barreled, some portions up to 7 years in wood. Released a little over 3 years ago.

Some familiar, well aged Bigfoot is here in the form of bountiful charred caramel and faint pine and grapefruit rind. The rich, abundant booze steals the show though. It's bountiful, but smooth and mellow at the same time. There is a bit more oaky tobacco at the end than I'd prefer but overall this is a treat. I think I liked the vintage blend of BA Bigfoot better though.

Have you had this yet @Beersnake ?

Goatsmasher from Holy Goat Brewing in Scotland. An English barleywine aged in Scotch whisky barrels. 10% ABV. This one is good, but not my favorite. Doesn't really hit the English barleywine notes that I expect, and it's a tad thin. Definitely drinkable though!

HOTD - Doggie Claws 2006 - Thanks to @beergoot for providing this ancient elixir.. def. the oldest beer I've had the privilege to experience! Looks and tastes just like a Yoo-hoo chocolate drink.. a bit of a oxidized/cardboard note but not off-putting. Mouthfeel is a bit lightweight for a bigger abv beer. Cannot taste any of the hop flavors, slight honey.. tasty and nostalgic - Cheers!!
