New School has a recap of OR closures for last year: https://newschoolbeer.com/home/2026...eries-cidery-amp-taprooms-that-closed-in-2025
Me too. I still miss it. Most painful pdx beer bar loss since the demise of the Rose and Raindrop many moons ago.
Interurban is closing on the 18th. Back in 2016 that was one of the few places you could find Pliny the Younger.
I just want to go on record again this year that I think it's dumb to have a year designation on this thread. Why can't it just be a continuous thread that can be replied to after year-end? I understand dating the "visiting" threads so they can be updated, but dating the news threads just seems arbitrary and unnecessary. And to stay on topic, it sucks that Interurban is closing. I really like that place. Always had a great beer selection, and their bourbon list is no slouch either.
I honestly can't recall the reason now. @Todd provided an explanation and reason some years back that made complete sense to me, but I can't recall what it was now.
It's saving others form having to open years old threads only to be forced to click through a bunch of old news, dead links, broken images, and banter between users before find something useful. Personally, I don't like these catch-all, dumping ground threads as they always bury information that deserves its own thread and discussion, so resetting threads annually was a compromise based on community feedback. Users are also encouraged to post outside of these threads too.
oh i remember it well. i didn't really think someplace would actually be closing, nevermind a legend!! RIP. drank a lot of whiskey there. and probably some russian river.
Function is currently pouring beers from Moonlight and Sante Adarius. If you're a fan of lagers or saisons/wild ales, I highly recommend getting over there before they're gone. Sante is a personal favorite of mine and Moonlight makes some classics. Looks like there's a couldn't Ghost Town beers still hanging around too.
The most anticipated upcoming new taprooms, breweries, & cideries opening in 2026 https://newschoolbeer.com/home/2026...amp-washington-breweries-amp-taprooms-of-2026
Made it to Function (Slabtown) the other day for a couple quick pours. Cask Strawberry from SARA was the highlight, and they don't make it often so get it while you can. Also had the Capitola Bright, and the 12P Czech Lager from Moonlight, both tasty. The can selection is also good - grabbed the Czech Dark Lager from Moonlight and Vanilla Joe from SARA, which is a must whenever I see it.
I specifically swung by for this but they had a private event so failed. Despite the name, is this a draft pour?
Yes, it's on draft. It's the strawberry version of Cask 200, a solera-style blend of saisons aged in a foeder.
How does the place look? I'd read that they were downplaying the "study" atmosphere in favor of a more pub-like space (bar seating, more TVs, fewer books).
