    Lunch beer today is , , ,

    Southern Prohibition Festbier

Flavor primarily of malt that's rich without being sweet. Hops are present but just enough to balance the malt. Very flavorful and quite satisfying.

Pale, hazy yellow-orange beer, opaque; thin, frothy, white head that soon regresses to thin, patchy covering with a slightly thicker ring encircling the inside of the glass. Tremendous tangerine and orange smell; very fresh; grapefruit flavor primarily. Rather bland citrus and citrus pith taste; a bit of oat-like malt presence in the background. Medium bodied; sharp and acidic.

A passable beer but pretty weak and muddled with the taste. The aroma is world-class, but the rest of the beer is mundane at best.

[IMG] Happy Tuesday afternoon! Shoutout to @dcotom for kicking it off and for wrapping up his holiday posts! After a day of total sloth, I managed to get a couple things done! Time to chillax with a beer I received in a trade: CERVERÍA LA TROPICAL “ Nativo Key” Tropical IPA!

Enjoying a nicely done German Pilsner collaboration with Burial and Good Word from the ATL area. Biscuity and bready with some lemon pepper hopping that was pretty spicy.
@Braunmeister_1943 i think your cat Spooky (sic) was the model for this brew.
    Cheers!

    1) Hofbrau Dunkel (5.5%): A German Dunkel with flavors of brown bread, dark malts, cocoa, and earthy tobacco notes.
    versus
    2) Kostritzer Schwarzbier (4.8%): A German Schwarzbier with flavors of dark malt, cocoa, some roast. (Mismatched the two blind)

German Dunkel versus Schwarzbier Battle. First is Horfbrau Dunkel. Earthy and bready flavors. Very nice, but fairly mild.
Next is Kostritzer Schwarzbier. Dark, roasty, slightly more chocolate flavor. Seems like more flavor overall here.
    Winner: Kostritzer Schwarzbier
