I saw that at my beer store recently and had to pass on it. Looking at your score i am glad i did.
Speaking of twists on traditional styles, i am having a German style pilsner hopped with Riwaka, Grungiest, and Huell Melon. While this is nicely brewed, i am not digging the sweeter than the style outcome that gives me strawberry on the back end. Oh well.
    Cheers!

That place is five miles away from my cousin's house in Highland Park, Texas. I should stop by there when I return.

More Houston beers paired with Houston musicians...

Equal Parts Arbor Pale Ale in the glass. Really nice.

Bubbha Thomas and The Lightmen spinning.

Billy Harper, and Bubbha Thomas are two out of three of the best musicians to come out of Houston...stick around for the third (or not :stuck_out_tongue:)

Thomas could have been huge, he was offered as Stevie Wonder's touring drummer in the 70's but turned it down to build up musical programs in Houston schools. The rest of Wonder's band would sometimes come back to Houston and help him record albums as The Lightmen band :sunglasses:

This is my signed copy, got to meet Thomas a few years before he passes away, awesome guy.

Took more time to post previous beer than it did to drink it.

    11.2min per Urquell.

    Damn European measurements!

I have some of the Sam Adams holiday pack left over this year to finally give proper reviews when not over indulging in everything. Review over in NBW soon (come join us, it's certainly the most fun [and welcoming] corner of the BA virtual bar).

Warm today at 62, and it has been raining a good bit today, up to 2.25 inches, most in several months. Big winds tonight and cold temps tomorrow.
Getting into a nice local oatmeal stout from Boojum in Waynesville, NC. The brewing team there puts out good but unspectacular brews. Recommend a visit to the brewpub if you find yourself in the WNC area this summer.
    Cheers!

We’re watching some intense snowboarding on the TV and I almost forgot to take a pic of Nothing Means Anything, Hazy IPA, Citra + Mosaic with South Jersey sourced grist. It’s well done. After this we’ll head over to a local diner for a late lunch/early dinner. Cheers!

NBW cross-post. Petskull Brewing Snap! Krackle! Stout! "All the goodness of a Scotcheroo bar...peanut butter, chocolate, butterscotch, marshmallow and, of course, Rice Krispies! We also add lactose to give it the sweetness a Scotcheroo deserves." I added it to the database. I am a preacher's kid from Wisconsin, and my dad brought Scotcheroo bar pans home many times when I was growing up, after church bake sales. Chicago Bears fans, how are you feeling?

Finally relaxing with a beer. I just finished getting some beef stew going for dinner and washing all the dishes. Got a nice cut on my finger while washing one of the glasses, it broke while I was washing it. Also had the muffler on my car break away from the tailpipe today. My mechanic was able to get it up out of the way and temporarily hung until we get the new muffler which should be here Tuesday. At least it's not loud so the muffler is technically still working. I usually get Second Fiddle but today I bought a 12 pack of their IPA. This was canned on 12/17/25 and is tasting great. It has a nice bready note that I never noticed before.

This performance is excellent - The Doors 60th anniversary and John Densmore and Robbie Krieger did a version of Riders On The Storm with some global musicians. Sierra Ferrell sings a bit, and Don Was is playing bass. It was produced by John Densmore. - it's worthy of a listen. I loved the Red Cloud Drum Group banging the drum. The keyboard player from the Foo Fighters Rami Jaffee did a great job channeling Ray Manzarek.
