The Schmidt's brewery was located in Northern Liberties. That location is now The Piazza at Schmidt's.

    Cheers!

Ah yes thank you for the correction! 2nd and Girard Street. I have no clue why I was thinking Brewerytown!

Pretty sure Jack can confirm this, but be sure to visit Capones when you're out that way. Food is pretty typical elevated pub grub, but the draft and can/bottle selection are always interesting and generally outstanding.

I have definitely mentally clocked Capone's of the list of places to visit! I am now going to have to make a spreadsheet of places such as Von C. to visit. Capone's list looks great and I cannot turn down good food!

What exactly is the question you're asking?

Doesn't look like the release is as staggered as in past years. Troegs posted this today:

Grabbed a 12 pack today and enjoying one now. Tastes great! Solid bitterness, nice hop flavor. Nose is underwhelming, but this has been my experience the past few years. Happy to have this back as always.

That has been my experience(s) as well.

I really miss the Nugget Nectar of yore.:slight_frown:

    Cheers!

Those Harrisburg bombers from years ago… you could smell that beer from the next room when the cap was popped.

Unfortunately that is nowadays a distant memory.:slight_frown:

I think he opened a thread 2 pages long about Nugget Nectar to find not much about Nugget Nectar at that moment.

Picked up a fresh pack of Nugget Nectar today in South Philadelphia at Springfield Beer Distributor on Washington Ave, right next to Dock Street South.

Haven’t cracked one yet, but looking forward to opening one tonight. Just sharing the date and local availability for anyone tracking this year’s release.

    Cheers

Please let us know what you think once you try one. Particularly how aromatic it is for a hoppy beer.

    Cheers!

That’s exactly what I’m curious about. I have this little theory that if someone’s beer palate drifts away from heavy hop chasing over the years, a well-made hoppy beer might actually become more enjoyable again rather than less.

I distinctly remember really enjoying this one about 12–13 years ago, so I’m interested to see where my palate lands with it now.

Should be a fun experiment either way.

    Cheers!

Nugget Nectar definitely gets over distributed in central MD stores. Many stores have stacks of it every year. Seems to get worked thru fairly quickly though, usually gone by March. I always buy some each year when fresh. I still prefer the 6 pack bottles over the 4 pack cans. Better value and I like the smaller size and more quantity.

I haven’t been into Philly proper for beer journeys but last winter @JackHorzempa helped me plan out a weekend trip that my wife and I took where we stayed a 2 nights in New Hope (about 45 min north of Philly). But on the way, I had some beers at Forest and Main and Human Robot, muled some cans home from each as well. Excellent beers from both places. Thanks again Jack, for the beer-cation planning advice.

You might be interested in knowing that Human Robot now has an outlet (satellite location) in New Hope. You can get both draft beer and takeout cans there. One stop shopping per visit now!:beers:

    Cheers!

P.S. I can also purchase Forest & Main canned beers at my local Retail Beer Distributor. I discussed this with an employee and he mentioned that Forest & Main self distributes their cans.

I’ve purchased some Forest and Main from a few stores in the last year or so (can’t remember where…maybe in York or Lancaster) Loved getting a pour of their Mild from cask. Worth the taproom visit for sure.
