I've seen them several years ago in a few stores in No. Central CT & W. Mass I was curious about them but never picked any up. I may pick up a few to try, but I'm not sure they are still around.

I've been a fan of Lawson's for maybe 12 years or so. Double Sunshine, Fayston Maple, Chinooker'd, Hopcelot are ones I look out for & pick up when they are around. I wasn't a big fan of Hazy Rays or Big Hazy, but then I don't expect to enjoy every brew from a brewer. I'd say they have kept my attention. It's also amazing that a beer such as SOS is practically a shelfie. Despite it's "lack of rarity" it is still a great beer.

Paging all the tree house untapped bros who score everything they do a 4.5 or higher. It's like a band. If you like everything they do without exception what does it actually mean? Nothing. The band isn't going to ban you from spending money on their shows just like a brewer isn't going to be like, "Hey, IPABro69 you can't come to tree house anymore because you said you didn't like verrrryyyyy haazzzzzzy kingggg greeeeeen."

That said, I also didn't love Hazy Rays. I think where Lawson's sneakily succeeds is with their maple beers. Fayston, Maple Tripple, Mad River Maple. I'm not a sweet beer fan mostly but those are great.

I inquired with friends who knew the owners and even they didn't know. I know the original partners had a falling out of some type. They seemed to have just fizzled out and ceased without hoopla or an announcement.

QUOTE="zotzot, post: 8300685, member: 948941"]Does anyone know the status of Green Empire Brewing?
They were a garage level operation, brewing and selling out of a space at Ft Ethan Allen
They were canning and I saw some at Beverage Warehouse not too long ago[/QUOTE]

Wild that they considered you rude.
    • Karen'd an email about not getting samples
    • Said they're not as good as their competitors when you were already complaining
    • Complained about the prices that they set for their beers.

Also, anyone manage to try their Hop Blaster Triple IPA. It was only at their brewpub and didn’t last long, but it was awesome.

Red Clover is moving just around the corner and up the hill to the old firehouse - more room to brew!

Makes sense that there's so much overlap between Tree House fans and Ph...fans

Anyone been to Rock Art recently. Years ago they produced some interesting beers. They are still holding, but getting behind the times.

I met Phil Young looking for Vermonster, when he owned Parker Pie, so many years ago. He pointed me to a new place "up the road in Greensboro" The rest is history.

Edward is incredible at 5.2%. Most DIPA's fall short of that aroma, flavor and complexity.

Heading up to hill farmstead this summer. Will be my third visit. I was a little taken aback when I heard Shaun Hill on a podcast saying he doesn’t drink alcohol anymore. I also got the impression that maybe he’s a little more hands off on producing the beers, but I’m not sure if that’s actually the case. Made me a little skeptical because he is literally THE brewery. Maybe it’s been the case that he’s been more hands off for years now though, even before he went “dry”. Not knocking him either, just mentioning it because I think it’s relevant to the discussion of the maintained quality of their beers.
