I’m headed to the Annandale/Falls Church area in a couple of weeks and looking for some recommendations on nearby breweries/restaurants/bottleshops that would be kid-friendly (I will have my 11 year old son with me and we would likely be stopping by in the early afternoon).

Would love to pick up some beers from interesting and new to me breweries when visiting the area. Also looking for a place to eat Thursday evening with a decent draft/bottle list (could be along the way from NC).

Settle Down Easy and Solace Outpost are a few minutes apart in Falls Church, both have to-go options, food, and would be fine to have an 11 yr old in tow.

There's not really much to seek out in Annandale but Solace Outpost in Falls Church, as the other person said, would be a good option with a kid. We stopped there a couple years ago on the way back from doing the DC touristy things. Pretty big space with one end sort of separated from the main area had several arcade games, pinball, hoop shoot, etc. Just give your son a handful of quarters and let him at it. IIRC they had double digit beers on tap and a number to-go as well. Good food options for a kid too. Can see beer / food menus on their website. https://solacebrewing.com/?site=falls-church

The Casual Pint in Falls Church is probably a good bet for food with good size draft list of around 35-40 beers on tap. They are a Verified Venue on Untappd so you can check what they have there closer to your visit. https://untappd.com/v/the-casual-pint-falls-church/9519649

For to-go beers, Dominion Wine and Beer (also in FC) is the best bottle shop in the area. At least it was back when we were up there although I've not really followed them much since. Just up the street from Solace Outpost. They are pretty active on IG and FB with posting pics of stuff they get in. https://www.dominionwineandbeerstore.com/

Ended up at The Casual Pint (next door to my hotel) and Solace Outpost. Thanks for the recommendations.

We did the funnel cake fries and arcade games at Solace.

Solace Outpost took over the space from Mad Fox Brewing, on of the OG craft breweries of the Mid-Atlantic

Dominion has a great selection, and lots of beers on tap available in crowlers, but if you can get to Arlington check out The Brew Shop — they’re also very good and will sell singles of anything in the store. Dominion has cut back on its singles selection.

I will file that away for next time I’m up that way.
