Unless it’s Tree House I can’t imagine it will do nearly as well. I walked by that night shift beer garden not far from there a lot and it was always completely empty, while the Trillium one was almost always full.

I feel like it's mostly about location. That Greenway spot is right in the middle of everything and is so visible. It's an area people are always walking by going to and from North End to Seaport in the summer. The Nightshift one is kind of in a weird spot and I believe used to be City Winery's spot.

Both Cisco beer gardens in the summer do great for example. Both are solid locations with lots of foot traffic.

Yet I've never seen the Tree House Pru location super packed. I'm sure it does at times, but given it's Tree house it speaks volumes that there are multiple days it's not busy. And don't get me wrong, the Pru has a TON of foot traffic. But for whatever reason (maybe TOO much competition in the Pru) it's not nearly as busy as TH's other locations.

I asked about this and didn’t quite understand their response.

I fucking loved going there on warm summer evenings and can’t beat a nice fall afternoon as well. Really, really sucks to lose this outdoor option. Feels like a mistake.

Cisco’s core group is the basic Gen Z hardly beer drinker. They love the seaport trust fund money. As does the Nantucket location. To be honest, they aren’t even a Brewey at this point. There should be some weird sub genre for breweries who just care about some odd image and mixed drinks as their main focus.

    Not sorry.

If you took the Cisco garden away and swapped in a big Trillium outdoor one there. The amount of complaints and bitching would be unfathomable. And I do believe it probably wouldn’t do close to as much business.

To further my point. If you go to Cisco’s IG, their 15 most recent posts(sticky posts excluded) have nothing to do with beer aside for 1.

Idle Hands, Aeronaut have done beer gardens, wouldn't be surprised if it turned to either of them. Vitamin Sea would slot in nicely too.

Notch would be an awesome pull.

Pretty sure it was Harpoon that outbid them for the one on the Common after the first year.

Treehouse was my initial inclination as well, certainly the one with the most cachet and most likely to unseat a long-standing incumbent like Trilium.

Agree with all of the above here, Notch would be great. But don't think you'd have nearly the same draw from Aeronaut/Idle Hands/Night Shift, probably not from Vitamin Sea. And don't get me started on Cisco.

My darkhouse candidate is Mighty Squirrel.

I’m all set with drinking a beer while bums make faces at us and try to wander in. That spot was awful

I think Vitamin Sea had a beer garden in Kendall Square? I went once, just can't 100% recall if that's who it was.

Yeah, it was vitamin sea. I went a couple times but it was always pretty empty when I went and it was cans, not draft.

Right! I went for a run there and had a double IPA in a can. It was decently busy for a Thursday night. Double IPAs make for fun runs back home.

I don't even live within two hours of a Mighty Squirrel location and I agree. I'm continuously astounded by their success. Cloud Candy is really good, everything else is fine at best.

Are we sure a brewery is going in this space?

Not at all. But, it would not shock me if Treehouse outbid them. Also that article can say whatever it wants about spreading the joy and allowing other vendors blah blah blah. It’s “xxxxx bid more money so we took it and really don’t give a shit, except about the money” haha

I’ll miss sitting out there dearly. Also the tall guy(whose name I forget) that did ID’s a lot and also poured. Was the nicest guy and always remembered you and conversations you had. Always made a point to spend some time chatting with him.

Ha yeah, if Tree House goes in there it's definitely all about the money. They don't need anymore opportunity and street cred.

I feel pretty confident in saying that it will not be Idle Hands unless we sell a lot more of the smoked beer pre-orders...

Ordered my four pack and pour!

That brewing the beer in person package was enticing too…
