...we see Heady and Focal only...they now tend to hang around for quite a while...that said, I would argue that they seem to age well (like up to a year or more)...

I had to look up Red Dragon Cheese because I had never heard of it. Now I must have it...sounds like it could be my new favorite

Batch 400 now at Pantown. It is a 12% Imperial Stout. Delicious, but not as good as the previous beer here.

    On tap at the brewery.

The beer looks likes motor oil. Pitch black into color thick looking with a brown head.
Nose is light. I get some chocolate malts and a bit of caramel. Faint.
Flavor is way more than the nose let on. Lots of milk chocolate notes here. It has a creamy flavor, though no lactose in here.
So damn smooth and full bodied. Very creamy feeling.
This beer is delicious. This is worthy of being thier 400th batch.

Wow, you wasted no time! I'm glad you enjoyed them. On the other hand, I have not tried any of yours yet (other than the ones you got me in person)! Waiting for the weekend to get into at least one of them! Cheers!

    1) Other Half Nectar Diamonds (8.5% canned 1/5/26):
A NEIPA from NY with Nectaron for flavors of orange, pineapple, passionfruit, earthy peach and dank greens.
    versus
    2) Other Half Citra + Nectaron (8.5% canned 1/13/26): A NEIPA from NY with Citra and Nectaron for flavors of mandarin, peach, pineapple, and lychee. (Mismatched the two blind)

Happy Friday BeerAdvocates. Other Half Battle featuring Nectaron. First is Other Half Nectar Diamonds, 100% Nectaron hops here. Some grapefruit, white peach, earthy and dank greens. Zesty, earthy, with a bite. Nice complexity of flavors for a single hop IPA. Some badass can art.
Next is Other Half Citra + Nectaron. Pretty self explanatory. Much more complex flavors of mango, peach, orange creamsicle. A more robust and smooth malt profile. Finish is incredibly smooth. Amazing hop combination and flavors.
Winner: Other Half Citra + Nectaron

Good afternoon BAdvocates. I’m drinking my first It’s Always a Good Friday When You’re Golfing “hoppy pale ale” by the Electric Eye brand of Revision Brewing. Thus far it’s tasting great. Nice balance of bitter hops and sweeter grapefruit.

    Cheers all!

Well, my Fighting Illini sucked today in the Big Ten Tournament...ugh

This just means more beer

Saint Arnold Monk's Temptation, Bourbon Barrel Aged Quad. 14.4$ ABV :astonished::sunglasses:

And I'm in the mood...er Mode For Joe...and oh yeah, Page One. His Blue Note debut and its a masterpiece.

    Monk's Temptation review:

Pours a dark, nearly opaque brown color. A bubbly beige head rises to about two fingers at first, but recedes to a ring. That eventually dissipates with no lace.
Oh, this is aromatic. A rich malty aroma of baked brown bread, dark fruits, caramelized sugars, and that wood/vanilla oak aroma.
Taste wise. like the nose, this is intense. That malty character goes from baked bread and dark fruits, to Belgian candied sugars, even dried bakers chocolate. Then that deep wood/vanilla/toffee character from the Bourbon barrels lingers. Everything compliments, and the base Belgian Quad is not completely covered up.
A big full body. At first, lively carbonation, but as this breaths this becomes rich, chewy and decadent. The warming alcohol, big body, and sweetness all play to make this a nice, but slow, sipper. Which becomes more nuanced as this warms.

If I haven't mentioned this already...yep this is big on everything. In a way that complements, instead of overwhelms. Its something I just want to sit with, and enjoy over a long slow sipping session. As this becomes more enjoyable and nuanced as this warms, I'm all for that.

Overall score is 4.19, easy A-

Stone Imperial Stout (10.5% canned 10/2024): An American Imperial Stout from California with flavors of dark cocoa, rich chocolate, espresso and bitter roast.

From 2024 and still drinking with a stellar amount of roast and bitterness. I'd say this is due to be brewed again in 2026.

Back-to-back triples? Well, my wife tells me I haven't had enough Vitamin D this week so it's milk with dinner for me. I said, okay, but a Stout for dessert. The art of the deal. That's how I stayed married and practiced law (both) for 41 years.
