I'm not sure what I'm looking at right now but this Stout looks more like river sludge meets a dirty didey. :flushed: (I hope it tastes better than it looks. :grimacing:)

Clever Girl. An IPA brewed by Triple Crossing. Well , I survived the crappy weather yesterday. It wasn’t as bad as the forecast had you thinking.

Revolution Thundertaker 2025 Rye BA Imperial Stout, 16% ABV. I rated this 4.82 in November. Not a Guinness, but at least the can is green, and we just finished corned beef and requisite veggies. Top o' the mornin' to ya!

At 16%, definitely not a Guinness. :sunglasses:

They are 90% lump crab and 10% celery and onions, no bread crumbs. Not like the hockey pucks they pass off for crab cakes on Cape Cod.

St. Patrick’s Day? What do you mean it’s St. Patricks Day? I thought it was next week! Yep, that’s how I arrived at work today, wearing my blue shirt. Beermeister32 can’t be accused of perfection in cultural events sensitivities. Like the baseball game tonight. What game? Oh that one. There it is again….

Well when it comes to a drinking holiday, I’m much more finely tuned up for a month-long drinking event like Oktoberfest! My kinda drinking party! I mean get serious…. Cinco de Mayo? St. Patrick’s Day? Drinking on ONE NIGHT ONLY? Get real! Make it a month!

Back into reality, it’s really great that I can enjoy the depths of the expansive and temperature-controlled Beermeister32 Bierhoard. Today I extracted a lovely beer, of what else, Guinness Extra Stout! Really if I had my druthers I’d be drinking Sullivan’s Irish Red, however that one is such a favorite around here, it is always in short supply!

One of the funny things about drinking on St. Paddy’s Day is the large number of green-tinted beers people enjoy. I’m a bit of a purist, I prefer to drink a beer the way it’s supposed to be. No green lips around here!

I do harken back to a screamer of a funny evening – goes back to the Spring of my 19th year So the setup is this, we’re all finally 19 and can go over to drink in Moscow, Idaho, where the drinking age was two years lower than the 21-year drinking age in the State of Washington. All my college buddies squeezed into whatever cars we could round up and headed out that 7-mile run on the highway from WSU to Moscow. “SCOW!!!!!” as everyone would yell. Party time!

So St. Patrick’s day of my 19th year found us at the historic drinking establishment known as Rathskellers. Yes, they had a Rathskellers in Moscow, Idaho, I know it’s a well-used name. We all pay the 3 bucks to get in the door and are handed a mystery pill on the way in.

Well there’s several hundred people crammed into this crazy former supermarket, turned college bar. It had a bandstand where some to the biggest club rock bands from the Northwest and California would perform. Quite the place for a budding Beermeister32. I could drink at 19!!! Not forgetting that little pill we were given – this was at a time before everybody was tinting their beers green. Somebody did mention that it was a pee-pee indicator dye pill, so we were all in!!

The real screamer for the night were those repeated bathroom runs. We had the usual pitcher after pitcher after endless pitcher of the usual suspects – Rainier, Budweiser, Schlitz, Oly – whatever! The tables were littered with empty pitchers. Next trip is to the standup urinal and YOU ARE PEEING GREEN!!!! YES GREEN! What a crazy night…. Think about that the next time you’re tipping back your Guinness or green-tinted Lager… Not to be outdone! Cheers!
