Ninkasi used to do so much cool shit. I would be there every summer from about 2008-2016 and always had good times.
I think the band Cheap Trick was in that rag quite a bit. It was sold alongside Teen Beat magazine which always had Donny Osmond and Leif Garrett on the covers...but Van Halen got Creem status as well. 'Twas a while ago.
I'm wondering if any Advocates have seen or heard of any beer collabs with Manchester Orchestra. Podcast Beer Guys Radio has mentioned drummer Tim Very (who passed away recently) and some beer collabs recently. Apparently, the band are big fans of craft beer. Can't find any pics of the beers. @jesskidden I guess this doesn't count for craft beer but I couldn't pass on the opportunity. I figure you would appreciate it.
F. & M. Schaefer used to sponsor music festivals in NYC in the late 60s > 1970s. "Jazz combo" Moby Grape (only 4 members, I guess Skip had, uh, skipped out), Muddy Waters, Butterfield Blues Band, Aretha, Duke Ellington, Ray Charles, Miles Davis, Tom Rush...
Schaefer's commercial with a moog synth is legendary. "the beer for when you're having more than one"!
Matt Pike of High on Fire (my fave band) has collabed with Ruse Brewing, Portland Oregon (fresh hop IPA), and 3 Floyds (Razorhoof hoppy Saison)
Yep. And he has Minnesota roots! I have a 1968 original copy of Cheap Thrills//Big Brother & The Holding Co. which Crumb did the artwork on...and Janis enjoyed a beer from time to time.
I found this from 1982...still makes me laugh. Myself 17 yrs old in Germany goofing around with some friends, sporting an R. Crumb Creem wifebeater I ordered from the mag. We laughed a lot! and were always at play. I was there for over a month...and we drank lots of Warsteiner.
