BAT cross-post. @LesDewitt4beer, it is thirty degrees warmer in Minneapolis, MN, than it is in TitleTown, USA. All we can do is collaborate. Central Waters Brewing and Fair State Brewing. @superspak, I used to dominate my son at chess, but now that he is on a chess team, he is calling out specific names for everything. Like, I will move a pawn without any real plan or taking any piece, and he will say something like, "Ah, yes, the Bulgarian triple-reverse!" I have much to learn.

Suncatcher Brown Ale. Big flavor for 3.8%. Some dark chocolate, roasted malt, little peat, some coffee, toasted brown bread, earthy hop character offering some bitterness. Outstanding.

 

Gonna be a big day for the Cowboy on Thursday...he's the Grand Marshal of the Opening Day Parade this year ...

Brewery 3. Vosbuurgh Brewing, an orchard with family ownership since 1839. Beer is really good and so is the vibe. But I went here specifically to throw shade at my brother--inlaw who has only had a family orchard business since 1889.

I certainly have this beer reserved for you. Please hang onto that weather for me.

 

1) Paulaner Oktoberfest Wiesn (6.0%): A German Festbier with flavors of pale malt, dry bread, grains, yeast. Crisp and carbonated.
versus
2) Weihenstephaner Festbier (5.8%): A German Festbier with flavors of pale malt, smooth honey, cereal, pale Munich malts. Smooth. (Correctly matched the two blind)

A warm Spring day so another perfect time for a Festbier battle. First is Paulaner. My last from 2025. Pale, bready, and clean. Exceptional drinkability.
Next is Weihenstephaner. A bit stronger aromas and more complexity here. More earthy and bready notes. More flavor overall. Win to Weihenstephaner, and this one has grown on me over the years.
