Exactly my point. I assume most see the word light, assume the beer has certain nutritional benefits, and figure that's all they need to know. Bud light platinum has nearly a third more calories than regular bud light, which I'll bet would be a big surprise to most BL consumers.
Sounds like they let WAY too much oxygen into this beer. Brett + oxygen = acetic acid. And some other pretty rough smelling and tasting things.
Possibly. (Not in that case, tho' - it's used for glassware). The last one(s) I tried the corks broke off, which I think was common after 25 or so years. Let's see, even at 1 per year, I should be out of stock. But I skipped some years, I'm sure.
Might beat Koch, himself. I do recall giving some of them away. (Guess I shouldn't really refer to them as "gifts" exactly...).
For me it’s any Keystone beer. They’ve always had a banana ester taste- not in a delicious hefeweizen way, but more in a weird “why does my beer taste like a banana” type of way. It was true 30 years ago and still now when I tried some at my son’s tailgate as that’s what they can get cheap…
I think my worst was from Victory Brewery that was labeled , at the time, the most "Hoppiest Beer". I don`t see it on their website now, and it`s been probably 20 years since I tried it. SO Much hops it almost undrinkable. It was not refreshing, it didn`t go with any food, all it did is leave a bad taste in your mouth. It was like drinking acid.
Worst crappy AAL beer that I ran across in college: Golden Anniversary Ice Worst "craft beer": Cave Creek Chili Beer. And I have enjoyed other beers (mostly stouts) with pepper or chile flavor.
I've only said "f**k this" to a couple beers... DFH Festina Peche, but I was a newb in my craft beer career... it was tame when I revisited it. So ignore this. Cave Creek Chili Beer... this is just a Mexi-AAL with a jalapeno or something in it. Its garbage. And I like peppered/curried beer. Indra Kunindra. Habanero Sculpin. Mex Hot Choc stouts. All S-tier compared to this.
10 years back or so 4 of us went to Ocean City MD for a little vacation. Purchased an assorted half case of Tall Tales Brewing at the beer store. We rarely drain pour anything. Between all of us could not finish a single beer..
Now you got me curious. What was wrong with them? And did all of them have the same issue? Never had anything from them, but it looks like they have some decently rated beers. Tall Tales Brewing Company | Parsonsburg, MD | Beers | BeerAdvocate
Without a doubt , Firehouse Pale Ale by Cortland Brewing. A local CNY beer , I like to give local breweries business. Tasted more vinegar than beer. Worst of all , I had bought a six pack.
I still have a bottle of this in the fridge. I did not love it but it was interesting enough to keep sipping them. There is some herbal taste in there I dig enough to keep going. Enjoy
