What beer are you drinking now? #4907

Bissel Brothers Swish (Citra, Mosaic, Simcoe) on the left and Give What You Have (Motueka, Nelson, Rakau). Swish is the standout of the two. Pillowy citrus hop goodness. Been a minute since I’ve had it and it’s as good as I remember.

 

Been a while since I’ve had a meeting beer, but this meeting really needs one.

Prepping for Stout Appreciation Night tonight. Plus it helps get me through the meeting.

A little rock n roll snack of triple cream brie, organic blue corn chips and a tasty WI made smoked meat stick makes me ready for another brauzinskie so I'll head over to Germany for a couple minutes for this yummy bottle of Andechs Festbier.

Today, it's cooled down quite a bit, out here in McGregor, but it's still a beautiful spring day--and both cats Gracie and Sundae are very happy to help me explore the day's new libations...each for the second time, as part of my Spring Cleaning project of going through my duplicates...a celebration of fine Canadian breweries: First, with Gracie, from Vancouver, British Columbia's Superflux Beer Company--it's their 6.5% Happyness IPA...

Next, with Sundae, from London, Ontario's Forked River Brewing Company--the 5.5% Full City Coffee Porter. This was a damaged can, so I didn't know what to expect, but it ended up being fine...

Finally, also with Sundae, from Cambridge, Ontario's Wave Maker Craft Brewery--it's their 4% Surfin' Cerveza...

Yes, big Citra on this one and that is still my favorite hop. I had to grab cans of it to go.

 

Bissell Brothers Super Swish TIPA (Citra, Mosaic, Simcoe). Everything Swish offers, just amped up. Huge navel orange juice and peel, orange Smarties, clementine, yellow grapefruit, mango peel, herbaceous dank, resinous pine to name a few. Hides the alcohol well. Crazy good.

Lagunitas DayTime after yardwork, Friday afternoon Cheers!!

 

Taking a break from tonight and tomorrows meal prep, sheet pan fajitas tonight (ready to go!) and root vegetable split pea and ham soup for tomorrow.
Getting into the first of my PA drop, DDH Double Alien Church. Nice use of the Mosaic and C hops. Very flavorful without being overly sweet and cut nicely with abrasive hops! Many thanks @jzeilinger!

Happy Friday, all! Using a recycled pic for this, because I still haven't replaced my phone (or gotten the camera fixed (and you can see how horrible it is). Stopped by Aslin the other evening, and had a Master of Karate - it had been a long time and it was actually tasting quite good (given Aslin's "fall-off" that many have as a perception, and I am one of them).

I mention that because I may feel this is the best higher ABV IPA (double+) in Virginia, maybe better than Double Orange Starfish, which would not have been the case years ago.


Talking Backwards actually has the same rating, but sits in sixth place due to having fewer ratings (I am certain).

I have mentioned this before, but sometimes I repeat myself. This music-named beer is almost certainly named for the lyrics of White Rabbit, but I came across this song that could fit after gaining an appreciation for the beer.

 

Wow. In the shake of a lambs tail its quite windy and blustery here. At least the sun is in play. Had to run out and collect a couple of @beergoot cans rollin' around on the patio...speaking of which...Stroh's is spoken here.

 

Got a significantly fresher batch of SN Pils this week than the initial 10/ 08/25. This one is 01/23. Tasting good . Planning a 10 week rd trip today to be started around 06/20 - 09/04.

 

Early start time all because of a miscommunication on a doctor's appointment. I can either go back to the office and look like an idiot or get the weekend started a little early. (Should this decision even require any thought? ) Some pretty fantastic shah right here (and @Braunmeister_1943 approved)!
