Just opened this "BW." At two years of age, cannot believe how well this is still drinking out of the can.
Best thing I've tasted so far, and that's saying something. This is a ba imperial scotch ale. It's a Structures/Boundary Bay collaboration and is amazing. The abv. is a modest 16.8%. Completely sessionable, obviously.
Sorry for the poor picture. This is a double magnum of the 2001 HOTD doggie claws. Still pretty well carbonated... this is pretty amazing. Not sure I'll drink anything else tonight. It's that good and there's plenty of it.
I think I arrived just after you left. This was my standout too. I brought brew 5k by Fremont. It was too sweet when I bought it in 2021 and too sweet now.
And have survived past it. These things get a bit silly, because everyone wants to open their beers, and there'll be a ridiculous number of containers open at a given moment. I only opened two (one was that 2001 magnum, but still..). A growler of Matchless Off The Cuff Old Ale left behind, so that will be dealt with soon.
I considered bringing two bottles but remembered there's always more to drink than is consumed so I left that second bottle at home. Turned out to be a wise decision.
Justin brought like 8 22s and that growler. I think he took 7 bottles home. And, we didn't even hit any Bigfeets this year.
Working through that leftover Matchless growler of Off The Cuff. Dan had one yesterday (mostly so he could get his UT tick), which means it's up to me to uphold the honor of the Hobos. It's a bit harsh, with some alcohol bite, and has a sticky-sweet finish. Not bad though.
And, after that chore, is my annual can of Kulshan Especial. It's annual to remind myself how much I dislike this whole 'Mexican Lager' thingy. Plus, it helped to cleanse the palate after that 3/4 growler.
