    1) Weihenstephaner 1516 (5.6%): A German Kellerbier with flavors of earthy grains, bread, honey.
    versus
    2) Weihenstephaner Festbier (5.8%): A German Festbier with flavors of pale malt, smooth honey, cereal, pale Munich malts. Smooth. (Correctly matched the two blind)

    A battle of Weihenstephaner lagers. First is their Kellerbier 1516. Unfiltered with a darker pour. Aromas and flavors have more earthy grains and honey notes. Next is their Festbier. Similar but more Noble hops and floral notes. A bit brighter, slightly sweeter. Both are outstanding. I am really digging this kellerbier style.
    Winner: Weihenstephaner 1516

    Printed this out, added Randy Little Thing and Phelonius Little Thing - will pass along to @sierraterrance when i see him at the next Friends of the Family event in Mills River in July :rofl:

    Speaking of Sierra Nevada, i am getting into a Gin Barrel Tripel acquired as part of the FOTF club. Have to say this is really well made. Gin is so overwhelming flavor wise, but the SN team did a great job imparting the slightest degree of the barrel to compliment a nicely made Tripel (which i enjoyed the base version at the last FOTF gathering in March). Rated 4.24
