I think previous batches were aged in separate barrels and then blended. Or at least #4 was handled this way as far as I remember.

CCB makes a quality product, the Leon is one of the most sought after beers on BA, they make good regular shelf beers and I think all of the Barrel aged stuff has been amazing. like any one they do have there misses.
The Huna and its variants are well received and trade well.

I apologize if my question wasn't clear. I love CCB, especially those from their BA program. I am curious how this particular beer, Capricho Oscuro, stacks up to the other limited release beers from CCB. Thanks for the reply.

It stacks up a little differently because the 12 oz bottles are shorter than the 750s.

Think im gonna make the drive from orlando when this becomes available as long as i have the funds. Anyone know how long these type of releases usually make it once they make them available?

probably depends on if they are selling individual bottles or 4 packs....not sure about leon, or BA church on a hill, but the imperial sweet stout was availabl for a couple days after they released it. i am hoping this wills tay around for a few days...they typicaly release their beers on a midweek day, so makes it hard for me to just drive down there and pick some up.

They are waxing the bottles today/tomorrow then maybe about a week before they sell them. Single bottle sales it looks like. So pissed I'm gonna miss it.

With this using several vintages of WW and mentioning brandy barrels, I expect this one to be special. The only beer from CCB that I preferred over BA Big Sound was a cask of Brandy WW at the first Hunahpu release. It was outstanding. If this is anything like that, with a little more body from the additions of the stout and porter, it should be incredibly good.
