Skeptical. Having tacos though

 

Have a good Tuesday. Good Anniversary last night, talked to my dad on facetime, and my mom on speaker phone yesterday. Didn't overeat. Slept well, but woke up at 430AM and never got and got back to sleep until around 8. I finished 2 books today: What an Owl Knows By Jennifer Ackerman 4.5/5. another amazing ornithological overview, includes a lot of fun facts like how they have twice as many feathers as other bird of prey. Includes info about rehab, such as training Owls to hunt again, and they won't be released from captivity if they are unable to be silent while in flight due to a deformity. Second book: Moonraker by Ian Fleming 3.75/5. Not as engaging or thrilling as the first two, but there are still great climaxes and action scenes. Includes info about the design of German V2 rockets as part of the plot.

Finally started the first monster of the month: The Age of Voltaire by Will and Ariel Durant, 4.25/5 so far into Book 1 about England. Prologue was a quick overview of Voltaire's life. The whole book is Western European history from 1715 to 1756.

We had to go to a specialty pet store for some Kitten formula and soft food, so we can wean them to hard food. They are around 5 weeks old. I think we can finally not shut them into the second bedroom and let them roam around. Roxie keeps wanting to either go in or out of the room and it has been irritating

Bone in Ribeye and Loaded baked potato was delicious from last night. I had the second half of the meal for lunch today. 3 cats were trying take it from me off my desk


New Belgium imperial Voodoo Ranger to start off the evening. strong pine, resin, and citrus rind hop notes balanced by a solid caramel/bready malt backbone. Great old school feeling DIPA. There is no voodoo ranger I didn't like.

Clever Girl. An IPA brewed by Triple Crossing. She is back again tonight. I think she likes me.

It was a year ago today that my wife’s brother passed away. Twelve days marks two years since my wife passed away. I hate the month of April. Too much pain.

 

Great beer. Songs cool but name makes me ill
