The amount of variation I see in garden and water snakes is quite staggering. I don't even like snakes all that much just spend a lotta time in the woods.

I've seen garden snakes lime green like bushmaster, water snakes with unique patterns, no two snakes are the same.

What I've learned it's hard to tell the difference between young Water Moccasins & Copperhead Variants. If either bites you, you are hosed

 

Kinda like water moccasins and Coral Snakes in Fl. Non venemous on some but they look the same . Red touch yellow on the Coral Snakes stay away.

 

I first tried Dale's Pale Ale about 15 years ago. It was delicious then and it still is.

Yeah but that whole baby snakes deliver more venom thing was a myth. The babies however are more likely to scare easy and strike quick. All mouth these snakes are.
