    1) BlackStack Estate Sale (8.2% no canning date): A NEIPA from Minnesota with Comet, Centennial and Deep Cut Cascade for flavors of orange, pineapple, peach, pineapple, berries, mango skins.
    versus
    2) Toppling Goliath Supa’ Sumo (7.8% canned 3/13/26): A NEIPA from Iowa with Citra and Mosaic for flavors of orange, juicy pineapple, melon, and mango. (Correctly matched the two blind)

BlackStack versus Toppling Goliath IPA Battle. First is BlackStack Estate Sale. My first try at this. I don't get much BlackStack anymore. This has some more old-school hops so I wasn't sure what to expect. Intense aromas of orange, pineapple, blueberries, pineapple, mango with a distinct malt that reminds me of Cap'n Crunch. Flavor follows but backs off a bit. Drinks heavier and sweet. The flavor here is robust and complex. I shouldn't have ever doubted BlackStack.
Next is Toppling Goliath Supa' Sumo. All Citra Mosaic. Orange, mango, tropical berries, melon plus some floral notes. Not quite as robust, but not quite as sweet. Flavors are milder, but t's cleaner and slightly more refined. Both impressed me a lot, but I have to pick a winner.
    Winner: Toppling Goliath Supa' Sumo

Yes. I prefer a regular pint glass but this is the one that was at hand. I buy in bulk now because I have come to realize that if you use them, they will get broken.

@Monkeyknife Hope you find it. Otherwise, I am always happy to ship. I truly found it very good, and I don't say that about all IPAs. It's King Sue meets Mosaic Mamba. I could see this one staying around.

Having a Pisgah Tripel while consulting my entry on BA. I previously updated this since the clear canned version I was having in 2022{?} was different than the hazy version I originally rated. With this third sample I can safely conclude that Pisgah modifies this seasonal ale from year to year. In addition to my impressions of the flavor changing over the years, I can say that neither the appearance nor the ABV (9.5%, 10%, and most recently 8.5%) have changed.
I realize this is not startling news given that many breweries change the way a beer is brewed from time to time without any public notification. ... makes beer drinking more interesting, yes?
