My gf's family lives in Beaverton and since we started dating, we've been visiting from Chicago once every 6 months or so. I haven't been on this site in a while but this whole thread is helpful. We've been twice already and will be visiting again in May. John's and Uptown Beer have been nice.
Do they take reservations now? We tried to go several times when we lived on the west side, but they were always busy and had a long wait, so we would just end up going to the food carts nearby. I would still like to go one day, I only hear good things.
been a few times and highly recommend. great selection in the bottle shop. bourbon selection in long and expensive but some good bargains and plenty of high end shit if wanted to try some expensive rare 1oz pours one time. food solid if somewhat overpriced. highly recommend. aloha.
This is very helpful. The selection (whether it be beer, bourbon or food) looked to be a bit spendy... the sort of price you don't want to spend unless you know you're getting quality. Based on this (and previous) recommendations, we'll definitely check it out!
I haven't been since a couple years before Covid. Meant to go back, just never made it. I remember that the sandwiches had names that ranged from geekish (e.g. "TK-421") to sophomoric (e.g. "Chicken Tit sandwich").
have not tried the food, but it looks tasty whenever i go. prices seemed fair, but ill admit i havent gone over it with a fine tooth comb. seemed like Deschutes brewpub type food/pricing. yes, their online taplist and the printed taplists IN the restaurant are not always up to date. for a place that has everything else dialed in, i found this funny. i let the bartender know last time i was there. im always by myself when i stop in and there is usually open space at the bar, so ive never checked on reservations. place seems popular/busy but no lines out the door or anything like that.
That actually sounds like the John's over in Multnomah, which is pretty close to Beaverton. That John's is still open.
Outside of John's in Multnomah, are there other places that will have brujos on draft or available for takeaway cans in the area within 15-20 min drive? Or will that be my best bet?
I'd check Uptown beer company as well for cans. In terms of draft, it's a crap shoot. Brujos does see limited distribution around town, but it's impossible to predict when anything will be on (or what will be on). So I would use Untapped to see if there's anything on tap nearby. That being said... doesn't sound like Brujos is all that far from where you're staying. You can't make it out to the taproom for some reason?
If you can stand a slightly longer drive time, right now Google Maps is telling me you can get from the western edge of Beaverton to Brujos Brewing in 25 minutes. Something you might consider for tracking down draft beers you want: Download the Digital Pour app. It will show you the taplists for any taproom that uses the Digital Pour menu system, and you can search for specific breweries or even specific beers. Example: Tall Trees Taphouse in Hillsboro is on the Digital Pour system, and they're currently showing 2 Brujos beers on tap. You might also find some Brujos cans in their cooler. And if you visit Tall Trees, you might as well check the coolers at Noble Hop Bierhaus, which is 2 blocks away.
I definitely can and I have gone to the taproom the last couple of times we were out there. Just seeing if anyone knew of any other locations. Appreciate you!
this is awesome and Tall Trees is on my list. I am going to try to get out there next month when I’m back in OR.
