White Bluff’s with the silver for Biere de Garde. I haven’t tried the latest recipe. Alc lowered a touch. They like to tinker with it (usually call it something else). I love the ones if have had in the past. They’re calling this one the OG version on their taplist/website.
Speaking of saison, I feel totally vindicated by Funky Fauna’s 3 medals. If your idea of saison begins and ends with Dupont, it may not be your jam. But if you can see the through-line to current refreshing, low-ABV beers as a canvas for a wide range of fruit/spice/other flavors, Funky Fauna is one of the best in the country. I’m gonna keep shouting from the rooftops how special they are.
When they first opened, well before they began packaging, it seemed like White Bluffs was trying to push their biere de garde as a flagship beer, and it's seemed like its been available more often than not, even after NOG took off. Last time I was there (probably last summer), I had one and it was delicious.
