Great Lakes Edmund Fitzgerald 7/28/26 bb date = 1/28/26 canning. Top tier American Porter all the time. Charred and nutty/biscuity malts balanced with earthy/piney hops, and a chalky/resinous drying finish. I got a 6 pack after reading a book about the Edmund Fitzgerald tragedy written by John U Bacon (who actually "liked" my Goodreads review on tuesday lol)

Enjoyed a Green Man Porter with lunch today in the backwoods of Western NC. It is brewed with an emphasis on chocolate malts yet it is not sweet and perfectly balanced. I definitely need to get a sixer in the fridge soon!
    Cheers!

Not sure this is the “biggest” (ABV wise) porter I’ve had, but at 18% it’s pretty big.
Maybe my favorite of all the variants of No Rules.
More words in NBW if you are interested.
    Cheers!

Pipeworks Barrel-Aged Baltic Porter, I don't buy porters very often, more of stout guy even though I'm 6'3". Anyway my 2nd contribution to this thread is another from Pipeworks. Nice beer.[IMG]

Cuvée of Two Covert Artisan Imperial Porters; Degenerate Breakfast, 10.5% ABV and Cup of CoCoJoe, 11% ABV. Quite coffee forward.

I see the image is having an issue, but check back tomorrow and it may show up then. If you reply then you'll see it. No idea what's going on.

Still don't see the pic on Tuesady morning in your post. I'll edit here if it's in this reply once posted.

EDIT: It shows up in the quoted portion of this post once this edit screen comes up, but only while editing. Once I post this reply, it disappears again. Weird!

    Nocturnal Storm - Rising Storm

This has improved with a little time. Still to sweet, however the vanilla has calmed down and the chocolate syrup has focused. Sadly the roasted malt is almost entirely absent.

    Having Illusions - Aurora Brewing

This one also seems to have improved with a month or two of age. Much more balanced than the Rising Storm Porter. The roasted malt is prominent with dark roasted coffee beans and roasted chocolate. Mild bitterness and slight sweetness. This is a beer for decompression.

Argonaut Baltic Porter from Structures Brewing in northern Wash.

Mouthfeel is rich and sudsy but not unctuous. Interesting aroma of dark roasted grain with cookies in the nose. Moderately sweet with hints of cocoa and raisins. Overall this is quite pleasant and while strong with alcohol, it's not hot or overly flavored. From the 16 oz can purchased at Skagit Valley Coop. Not dated.

The last new (to me) variant of Perrin’s flagship Imperial Porter. And it’s purely a dessert beer.
    Cheers all!

    A Mid-Atlantic beer with a Mid-Atlantic band.

    Nocturnal Storm Rising Storm

A little age has been kind to this beer. The vanilla has been diminished to an accent, allowing the malt to come forward with chocolate and coffee. Far more balanced and enjoyable than the younger cans.
