Have a good Tuesday. I was up all night playing chess and Finished The Secret of Secrets by Dan Brown at 8 AM: 4.1/5 Classic feeling mystery thriller from the Robert Langdon series. Longest one he wrote yet at 23 hours audiobook. Loved the narrator Paul Michael as always, does all the character voices for everything perfectly. Turns out the Golem isn't the real antagonist, just a double personality of the character Sasha who is a girl who was experimented on in a secret mind power brain implant research lab, and the Golem killed people connected to the group. That clandestine group was the ones that wanted the manuscript, that they ended up pretending to burn it. Classic feel of a Dan Brown book, very well developed and memorable characters.

Next book is The Pelican Brief by John Grisham: 4/5 Another classic legal thriller from the 90s, I have read 33 Grisham books so far. Starts with the assassinations of 2 Supreme court justices that were from opposite political sides, then a law student named Darby Shaw, conducts research on Rosenberg and Jensen's records and writes a legal brief speculating they were not killed for political reasons. Then people she connected with start getting killed, then the suspense legal chase action comes in.

3/18/2026 Wicked Weed Pernicious from a 12 pack. My Go-To IPA. Refreshingly dank and crisp resins. 20 bucks at walmart and always fresh.

Sadly after this beer I may have to open a bottle of wine that I get monthly from the Virginia wine club but give most of them to my kids and son in laws. But I do have a few bottles on hand. $25 a bottle. Is it stupid to open just for a glass or two?

Another round of hotdogs from the air fryer, my wife likes em a little less done, mine stay in for 10 minutes until they get burned a little. I prefer on the grill until I can taste the charcoal on the cookout style doggos.


Victory Sour Monkey. Canned 12/2/25. Tastes of big tart/sour lemon, lime, green apple, white grape, melon, hay, straw, grass, light peppercorn/clove, bread, and brett/lacto funk. Light-medium tart/sour and spicy yeast finish. Fairly crisp, no pucker, mild warmth of 9.5%. Super smooth. My wife loves this beer.
