I was told by one of the owners during a tour shortly after they opened that the name came from the album, not the film. I had guessed they were named after the film myself.

They've put forth various explanations over the years. Shrug. These guys don't even have a brewery phone, so anythings possible.

The only thing I remember from that movie is "That's a chip up the nose, I'm afraid"

You don’t remember: avoid the green ones, they aren’t ripe yet?

    Cheers!

And now there’s an IG post from the brewery about a screening of the movie on the 22nd.

I get a 4 day weekend this week. I think I know what movie I'm re-watching at some point.

IPA's are still my preferred brews, but I will admit that I grow tired of the seeming sameness of many NEIPA's. I like a classic west coast style IPA with nice clarity but they can be hard to find around here.

Ya know...I've thought the same from time to time, but when done right, nothing beats a well made IPA, especially if it's a delicious west-coast DIPA. IMHO, other styles are simply...boring (although a New Zealand Pilsner with it's citrus forward taste grabs my attention again & again). That said, IMHO, they just don't have the range IPA's can have...when done right.
