What beer are you drinking now? #4963

Nice to see Europe and Australia starting the day around the globe.

Many of Chicago’s tied houses art work pre prohibition featured the global Schlitz icon, a few of which have survived over a century later. Tomorrow marks the final planned day, at least until the brand returns down the road, they will can Schlitz beer. I have five more with a 5/30 BB, but will try to find as many possible on and off premise until they are gone.

Well it should have been a weekend cat-sittig but the sister-in-law has changed her plans. So we've buggered off to the coast for a few nights. Back at one of my favourite pubs in the country.

Today's New Breakfast Beer:



Big Chicken (2026) from HenHouse Brewing. 16 fl oz can, received 18/05/26, in a ninja strike from @2beerdogs. Stored at 40 degrees F at home. Reviewed 22/05/26, review 3732.
Final impression and summation: 4 Uncredited label art. Very mild but pleasing flavor combination. Although this is past the “canning date + 60 days” freshness period, this is still highly drinkable. Thanks Derek – a delicious drink!

And @2beerdogs - don't be concerned that these HenHouse brews are a few days past BB date - they're still good and without you, I would never have had the opportunity to taste them - CA makes some damn good brews!

I'm sipping on this excellent Summer Lager from Prost. Dating says canned April 2nd 2026.

The weird thing is that the package date on the package says:



They probably had some problem with their laser dater..

Prost!

 

Next up on the patio is Rüdler, a grapefruit radler from Hübris. Too sweet, but still nice in the sun.
