Revbrew is probably better for your immediate food and beer needs, but when pipeworks expands production/eventually gets a brewpub... good things will come your way.

Well done! Belly Shack + Green Eye is always fun. And you're damn close to Map Room and Piece, too.

I think this is missing something about Laffler and cutting in lines.

North and Western is a great place to be. Within walking distance there is:
    - Pipeworks
    - Revolution
    - Vas Foremost
    - Quenchers
    - Map Room
    - Evolution
    - Handlebar
    - Piece
    - Bangers and Lace
    - Emporium Arcade Bar
    - Lillie's Q
It might be winter, but you won't notice it.

You WILL go to Castle Vav on delivery days. And most days in between.

Welcome to the (general) hood! I'm about a half mile down, near Western and Division. Really looking forward to Pipeworks opening their bottle shop/growler filling.

I can't wait gents (and ladies if there are any). I start my job on 2/1 and close on my place sometime in February. I'll be looking to set up some trades and participate in bottle shares once I get my cellar in town.

I'll also be looking to plan some beer events around town to get my non-profit a bigger presence in Chicago. We did an event last April that went pretty well!

I "like" Chicago Beer Geeks and Chicago Beer Society. Like a bunch of the local bars and breweries already. On the CBS email board already. Any other good social media sites I am missing?

If you cant get the rare hard to find stuff in Chicago, then chances are a 45 minute drive north to Antioch Illinois to Antioch Fine Wine and Liqours might have it. Also, Woodmans in Kenosha Wi will be a reoccurring stop for any of your Wisconsin brews that you have to try (New Glarus(wi only), Tyranena, Central Waters, ect)

Also, a new start up in Chicago (http://beeradvocate.com/community/threads/new-craft-beer-boutique-in-chicago.58967/#post-809257) I have not been there yet, but ive been hearing lots of good things!

Plan on going to Haymarket before noon on Sat!! You will be very glad you did! If you can make it to Beer Bistro on Madison you can get Baudoinia on tap for cheap today too.

Welcome to the hood.... Just down the street.

Anyone one here on the development board for Chicago Beer Week? I'd like to get an event set-up during this timeframe and might need some help.

I live at Fullerton/Western in Bucktown. Walking distance to both Map Room and Quenchers, and very quick bus rides to Local Option, Beer Bistro and Revolution. Also close to Piece and Pipeworks. The only thing lacking is a quality bottle shop (I usually head to West Lakeview Liquors).

Vas Foremost and Before You Go are both half a mile from Fullerton/Western, though there's nothing on that corner, I agree. Check them out if you haven't already... Beer Temple is only a mile north of Fullerton on the #52 California bus.

I like Vas, but the prices are a bit high and they don't offer great knowledge. I personally boycotted BYG after they changed some staff and had a bad experience with the BCBS variants release this year.

I did check out beer temple and will definitely make it a place I frequent on the weekends.

new ownership at BYG. don't seem as helpful as the last owner.
