I don't know their distro schedule, but they ALWAYS have fresh cans on monday. I think they might send out to stores before the weekend and leave enough to run out on sundays, so there's always fresh ones on monday.

That hasn't stopped boston bars from picking up their own supply.....

Sometimes stores will set a limit. Although some of the ones I've gone to have one but no one is really enforcing it.

I'd love to have just one can of the stuff and folks in this thread are buying 6-8 cases at once. Wow. Color me jealous.

We fit 15 cases in our car last time (needed cans for the beer dinner) plus 26 or so growlers of HF. These places will happily accept your money, and in The Alchemists case, your credit card.

They posted today on FB they sold out again until Thursday - must be all the vacationers in town? Higher distribution for the holiday? Rarely does that happen on a weekday.

Hearing rumors that output will be increased dramatically soon & HT will be avail much more often all around NE....as much as disty drops every few weeks around Boston.

Shame that geeks currently seize/hoard excess stock as trade collateral often. But selling on Ebay is evil??? Puhleeese.

mY STORE was shut out froM Heady for the first time ever this past wekk. I hear it's just cause of the 4th...hoping to see much more in the future. First time since they started canning that my store wasn't allowed their normal weekly allotment. We'll see.

I know a number of locals who were buying multiple cases for the 4th. I'm sure that has a lot to do with it

I think what is most commonly happening is people who head up there are also buying for their friends back home. It's cheap, widely liked, and plenty available - so even my non-BA friends will ask me to pick up a 4-pack or two for them. That quickly starts to add up... HT hasn't garnered much on the trade market in a while. It's also a giant pain in the ass to do a trade with only $12 worth of beer - I've traded out a few 4-packs, but I've done it more as a charity act or to hook up trading partners, and I can't imagine anyone really trading all that much at once.

I tend to think the bigger problem, aside from just general demand being high, is restaurants that are helping themselves to 10-20 cases at a time. There are places in Boston that do it, and they seem to get away with it just fine. So I'm sure there are places in other areas of the state that are doing it as well.

we're cut off here in southern VT until further notice. Our local store just drove up the Waterbury and came back with an empty van...this was posted on their facebook page:
"This is just a courtesy announcement to all MDB customers and fb followers, "Heady Topper" will not be available south of Montpelier/Barre, Vt area for a undetermined amount of time.
I talked with a spokesperson affiliated with the brewery today and apparently they are having a difficult time keeping up with production and keeping their own store stocked for the customers that frequent the brewery.
Unfortunately at this time, the "Heady Topper" beer runs that I have been making in the past have come to a halt.
I am sorry for the inconvenience to the many dedicated customers that have supported this fine brew and followed my many treks to Waterbury and back.
Hopefully we will have it back in stock sooner than later."

    High demand=increased production (eventually).

And this is a problem why???

They have been instituting 1 case/person over the holidays (christmas-new years), this is not the case at the moment but just a heads up for those coming on holiday weekends. Hopefully they won't have to do that with the increased capacity coming in a couple of weeks but who knows....

I believe the limit is now 3 cases. It's definitely been lifted from one.

Is this a firm limit, even on non-busy weekdays?

truly not sure. I know they were pretty strict on the 1 per limit.
