We're all here because we love beer and we enjoy spreading the word. That said, one can only review so many beers in one day...alcohol eventually limits our judgment, even in assessing the quality of a beer. That said, what's the most beers you've ever reviewed in one day, and what were they? a) Small samples b) Whole beers (cause who are we kidding, small samples are weak sauce)
Really? I mean, really?? This isn't college frat BA. Hell, why don't we just beer bong all beers then review them! Taster flights are great for trying new things. I love the places that serve flights so I can try all the taps. It's about quality, not quantity.
Three or four. I've found that after that my palate is compromised. Kind of like going to a beer festival & having a Bourbon County Stout Vanilla as your 19th pour & going "Huh, that's OK. I don't remember it being that tame."
Probably eight or so. Food and water are essential. We had a tasting that went from 11pm-7am for m birthday two years ago. We woke one of my buddies to give him a pour of a two year old Saison-Brett haha.
Reviewed or consumed than reviewed? I frequently write down notes, but don't enter them or a while. Then I sit down and pound them all out on BA
I have reviewed 3 beers in a day (full 330ml bottles). I was in Mauritius and had to finish the beer I had as I did not have space to bring them home. In general though, I only review one beer a day.
If I like the beer, you can bet your ass I'll want a whole one. It has nothing to do with beer bongs and college frats - it has to do with quantity, which, while not as important as quality, has its place.
Looking back at my reviews, there were two nights where I grabbed a mix-a-six and reviewed the whole thing. I'm not sure how my inebriation affected the reviews, but I had a good time doing it.
When we make day trips to NYC for example, we'll do between 5 and 10 full reviews. This is over the course of fifteen hours, with two hearty meals in between. I guess we're splitting them too, so that helps stretch it out a bit better.
2/3 after that my pallate is to affected to accurately review. At that point I also usually switch to macro beer or bourbon/scotch on the rocks.
I've been to a tasting or 2 where we split beers and had about half per man, I did 8 reviews once that way, but I prefer to do 1 or 2 full beers @ a time. Honestly, the reviews here are about a third of what I actually have written in journals, just don't have the spare time to input them here as fast as I review them... gotta catch up
