Plan on stoping by the Freemont tap room around 5:30 PM Monday. Looking for some trades for a couple bottles of B-Bomb. Let me know if you are interested in any Midwest brews and what those might be. I'd be happy to mule a few for some IP trades.

Thanks to mchen for the trade! Hope you enjoy your Founders, Surly, and Central Waters. I also lucked into what may have been the last B-Bomb bottle at Delaurenti so my suitcase is full for the return flight.

Tell the Surly folks that if they are ever able to distribute their beer in WA, they will be deeply loved and embraced. At least by me :grinning:

Same here. I always have Bender or Furious (at Ike's) while on a layover at MSP on the way to visit the in-laws in Nebraska. Good stuff.

It's a bummer that you can buy Surly pint glasses, shirts, hats and even empty growlers at the airport, but you can't buy beer to take home with you. Must be some Minnesota law preventing it.

MN definitely has some funky laws regarding alcohol sales. I was told by a guy at the Four Firkins beer shop that if your brewery has a brewpub aka restaurant then you are not allowed to have a commercial line of your beer, as in bottle it. An example is the excellent Town Hall Brewing.

And then in order to sell pints of your beer at your brewery site, you have to have an actual "taproom" otherwise you can only give away free tastings sell growler fills.

Learning all that last time I was there made me realize how good we have it in Washington.

I mean it's not the worst thing ever, but it just seems needlessly restrictive. MN breweries has some amazing breweries and with tons of expansion in the last few years.

that's awesome! so now breweries will be able to have a full restaurant/brewpub and have a commercial line, right?

coffee bender is straight up one of my top 5 beers. so tasty, can't get enough of it whenever I visit the twin cities.

Yup breweries will be allowed to have a full taproom/restaurant.

Can't wait to see what Surly puts together.
