To all those who love Super Kitty but hate paying 25-35 for 1 liter bottles of it, Tommy K. has done something that will make you happy. SK is now in 12 oz. format, in four-paks, and the one I bought today was 12.00. Drinking one now. It isn't quite as good as batches past, especially the '07, '08, and '09, but it is damned delicious and is now one of the best bargains for a strong ale of this quality out there.

Nice switch. '07 1L is still my favorite of the bunch so far. Wish I had more bottles of that.

Is this bottled by Old Saratoga like with Joe Mama's and the rest of their mass produced bottles? Most likely the culprit of the batch variation.

Nope, produced and bottled in Kingston.

That's good news. New bottling line? Hand bottling?

I'm sure Merc will be all over this!

As of six months ago they still have and use their original bottle line which Tommy tells a great story about, but maybe they upgraded at the same time they upgraded fermenters, haven't been in the brew room for a while. Those new 80 barrel tanks are beautiful through the window though.

Gotta say SK, new or old recipe, is a delicious beer, his best IMHO.
Yeah, Keegan is his favorite local brewery

Got a 4 pack for $11.99 at a local store. It was right next to the big waxed Super Kitty bottle for $30+. Cavedave was right - a good bargain for such high octane beer.

Will keep an eye out. Price point on the 1L was the only thing stopping me from checking this out.

Why do you weirdos in the Hudson Valley fall all over yourselves with Keegans horrible beers?

    (Consider this thread properly Merc'd)

Haha then I guess you wouldn't be interested in a growler of Smoketoberfest to tick.

Just FYI, got this at New Beer for $12, said the shipment came in today.

Speaking of N.B., they have Big John and Night Stalker for 9.25 each.

I just bought a four pack today. However, the place I bought it from, it was stored in a refrigerator that is super cold. Should I keep these cold, then just let them warm whenever I want one? Or should I take them out of my fridge, store them warm and chill when I want to drink?

Drink one at cellar temperature now. Save the rest in a cool cellar, and drink them in a year. I find a year does this beer wonders. Multiply this by four or more for maximum enjoyment.

So I shouldn't let any of these sit cold? I'm not gonna drink at all tonight, I was have at least one this weekend. Should I even take that one I plan on having this weekend out of the cold as well?

Sitting cold is fine, I enjoy drinking them at cellar temp, YMMV

In other words, going from really cold to cellar temp then to chilled again (or staying at cellar temp) won't affect the taste?

Well, I am no Ron Pattinson, but in my experience no, it won't affect it in the least. Chances are that has already happened numerous times before you purchased it.
