These always see light of day when I have my son and can't drive downtown to get them.

Unfortunately Jester King releases don't make it out to the west side of town much at all. Only Bunker Hill HEB gets them and because of that they sell out very quickly.

I liked this beer a lot too! Probably my favorite Sour from them to date.

I'll keep my eyes and ears open in hopes I can snag some.

Probably on par with all of their sour barrel aged releases, I would guess...

I purchased some from Stanleys a few weeks ago and they were in the 15$ range from there. I'm not sure how that would translate to other retailers however.

What's going on? Austin is finally getting JK before Houston? Outrageous.

Gabriel's just got 3 cases each of Wunderkind and Funk Metal. No word on RU-55 yet.

Haven't been up there in a while, but have you checked the Spec's on 620 (10601 Ranch Road 620N)? I recall they had a decent JK selection the one time I went. I've also obtained some gems like Uncle John's Stout there.

These are "new" batches of Funk Metal and Das Wunderkind. The base beer for Das Wunderkind was brewed in early November and blended with old, sour beer on 11/30/12. The Funk Metal is our second blending of old barrels of soured Black Metal with some barrel fermented 100% brett beer. We've been putting away Black Metal for barrel aging pretty consistently now (about every three months) for the last year, so we had enough mature barrel-aged beer to do a second blending of Funk Metal.

I realize that the multiple blends we're doing and increased frequency with which we have mature sour beer ready for blending is difficult to follow. In order to fix this, we've started putting batch codes and bottling dates on our labels as of this week. I'll blog about more of the details of this next week.

Drinking RU-55 now...damn it's nice having a cold one ready at my go-to store.

Love this style and this beer. Coming on the heels of some acidic tart bombs this past weekend it's nice have the depth of a Flanders.
