Greetings snow bears and bunnies of better beer! I hope this message finds you ready for another fine Sunday with new beery heights of exploration headed into your snifters, chalices, and goblets.

Weather in Central OH is pretty typical for January. Had a big bolus of snow come through on Friday but it quickly subsided and we have a nice white glaze covering the landscape. Made it perfect for lighting a fire, watching "Rock of Ages" with the wife last night, and sipping on some Kulmbacher Eisbock.

However, this is not the place to spend time talking about "go to" beers. This is the thread to talk about NEW BEERS. Pull up a virtual stool, sample a beer that's new to you, and share it HERE! Please post a linked review, a very good description (same rules apply as when you review), and anything else to give us a peek behind the curtain of your new beer crusades. None of us are professionals (at least I don't think) so the only thing that matters is your personal opinion of how the beer tickled your 5 senses. Check the last few weeks (weeks 412&413) if there are any questions about the intent of this fun little thread.

I've got a boat load of International Business homework so I'll be checking back frequently to live vicariously through your findings today. Good day and good drinkin'.

    Peace, love, and malty-ness,

    Matt

    New American Red Ale Sunday!

Greetings from the Jersey Shore, where it's 34 degrees and sunny, a bonafide heat wave after the last several days.
Looks like the snow on the ground may be around for a bit, but there could be a thaw later in the week, hopefully. Wednesday might see 60 degress, go figure.
Here's what I drank while thinking about lunch: http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/1805/13701/?ba=NiceTaps. Good choice.
I opened another new beer with lunch, I'll get that up here a little later. Cheers!

    New AM. IPA Sunday,

    Greetings NBSer's,
From icy, rainy SCMN. Don't go driving around here unless you like that skating feeling while handling the vehicle. Odd, odd winter here. We don't have much snow, but we have ice, and the cold temperatures to keep it around.
Can I just say how much I admire Bitterbill for opening a growler of a quad before noon on Sunday. An achievement I don't think I could mimic.
And while I'm dropping NBS names I drink today's beer to mimic an contribution given by JoeyBeerBelly last week. He assured me of it's worthiness as a NBS entry, so here for a repeat performance we have an American IPA from the heartland.

    Best to all this week.

New Russian Imperial Stout Sunday (made in the Mitten State)

Lazy Sunday in West Michigan. Seeing a slight thaw after a pretty significant snow early in the week.

I took the opportunity during some rare quiet time to enjoy today's offering from Atwater. Very interesting beer. Like the ZJ, if you gotta ask, you probably can't afford the VJ. Not really.

2nd New Beer of the day: http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/26/9478/?ba=NiceTaps. There's a lot of citrus hop in this at 28 ibus, it threw me a curve. As much as I love hops, I wasn't expecting it from Gumballhead. I wasn't bad. Now best for last, just crackin' a Heady Topper ( not new, but just like new every time!).

It looks good (as seen in photos), but it feels a little thin in the mouth. Not bad, but not terribly earth-shaking.
    A 3.75 out of 5.

Big roasty notes actually comes damn near smokiness with a bitter acrid note on the finish.

Sleeting and icy here in Chicago. Thought I'd try a local for new beer Sunday this week.

Two Brothers Imperial Stout out of Warrenville, IL. It poured a deep brown color with a dark tan 1 & 1/2 head. The head dissipated quickly to a thin, disappointing film. It sort of looks like flat cola. a bit of lacing when swirled. It smelled of dark chocolate, coffee and a bit of roasted malts. The taste was a bit harsh. The chocolate was bitter and the coffee tasted burnt. There 's a harsh alcohol taste there too. Not much in the way of sweetness at all. It doesn 't taste bad, just not what one would expect from the aroma. Wonderfully full & lush mouthfeel though with a nice medium finish.

Greetings fellow NBSers! A typical rainy, 40ish day here in the Fourth Corner. I had took a nice, wet walk with my Nephew, the Mastiff/Rottweiler mix, earlier today, and I'll have a few new brews for y'all later. But first I must ask your forgiveness. The interwebz at the local bar I use wouldn't let me access BA last Sunday (although, it's working fine today) for some reason. I was going to give a big shout-out to BA Dopplebockulus. I made a smart-assed reply to a thread he started a few weeks ago, he had the good spirit to take it in the way I meant it, and even sent me a nice box of beers, and I'd like to post the reviews I would have posted last week. Thanks again Dopplebockulus! http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/2372/21950/?ba=beertunes : and http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/17981/46363/?ba=beertunes. I'll be back in a bit with today's offerings to the temple of NBS!

    Happy NBS to all...

Clear and cold here on Long Island but the good news is it's going to be above freezing the next few days.

We went out to brunch for my brothers b-day. The place we went to didn't have any FBS (or any craft beer besides Sam Adams for that matter) so I had 2 bottles of Guinness Extra Stout with my meal.

Back at home now and working on my 1st new beer of the day...

    New American IPA Sunday

Haven't posted on NBS in ages, but it seemed appropriate since I added a new Sierra Nevada beer to the database. Beautiful day here in Burlingame, CA. High 50's sunny. Good IPA weather. A buddy of mine went to Sierra Nevada and brought back a bunch of goodies including two bombers of Hop Harmony (review here http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/140/89472). A very solid IPA all around. I'll add a photo to the page in the next few days. I particularly enjoyed the unique subtle spices. Cheers all!

Hello everyone! Third week in a row on the New Beer Sunday. After almost two weeks of snow and frost, finally it rained today and most of the snow has already melted away. Now, going to work on a weather like that with the bike, has taken its toll on me. Thankfully not so bad, as I don't have any fevers, blocked nose, shivers and this slime around the cheekbones that my girlfriend gets, but I have a clogged ears feeling, so I am trying to fight the cold with high ABV beers.
Tonight I am drinking an Arnhems Dubbel, a beer that is exclusively brewed for a beer shop i Arnhem. I visited for the first time the other day, since he had a cool offer (a free glass with 4 small bottles of Kasteel Cuvee Du Chateau) and grabbed a couple of those too. I haven't yet added it but here is my review

and here is a photo along with the free glass I got
