I think part of the issue was this. CW should have never promised a PM swap for 15 especially since they knew it would be limited from the beginning. They did post signs that said this and they asked people with credits to be conscience of the limited availability of 15 and their credits. Considering there was a 4 bottle limit and you already got 10 bottles I would consider and additional 7 via credits is taking advantage. Though, it is all relative and based on each individual opinion so there is no correct answer.

Your math seems a little off

    No i purchased 2 VIP + 4 Allocation = 6
    Traded for 4
    Swap for 7

how you came up with 13 is beyond me.

Keep in mind i picked up for other BA's who had infected peruvian morning who couldn't attend the party which is why i had 7 credits. I didn't feel like i needed to go into such details but apparently i do. The 7 bottles also came from a different pile that was set aside for the Peruvian Morning swap against the right wall. So doing other BA's favors for picking up their swap as they were unable to attend is a bad thing apparently - noted.

As for the VIP guests - I'm just stating that i went in as an invited VIP guest and did not just sneak in like the other three members accused me of doing.

People don't care how. They see you have and want. I got 11 bottles of Ba abraxas because I made 5 trades. I apparently also "shut Out locals" for trading bottles I previously paid for and waited in line for at other events. It's a sad state of affairs, and people that don't know you or know what happen feel entitled to assume and make stuff up and entitled to your beer too.

Mista is an awesome person. I've met him before, and anyone who thinks otherwise is a goddamned fool

I second BigLobo's opinion on Mista. He is one of the most generous BAs I know. Three of the seven bottles he picked up with credits were mine. I was not able to make it to the party and had infected Peruvian that CW wanted to make good on. I asked if I could have someone else pick up the bottles for me and they obliged. They asked for the name of the person picking it up for me and said that it would no longer be under my name, but his. I think it makes Mista an even more stand up guy for not having mentioned the fact that they were not all his (and thereby leading people to accuse him of lying).

I don't know Mista. He may be a wonderful guy and a solid all around BA. However, I AM a goddamned fool. Just not sure how posting about receiving seventeen bottles in a thread containing stories of multiple people missing out on even a single bottle can be considered a solid BA move.

I owe Mista my apologies - my post and the quoted text suggest I was referring to Mista, when in fact I was speaking of another BA. I'm sorry it came across in that manner.

amen, man. beer nerds drove this thing right in to the ground.

still had fun but did not participate in waiting on lines, bottle sharing, whining about 15.

the brewery didn't ruin this thing. they have no way to anticipate the level of nerdrage that was going to occur. they planned an awesome event. they opened up new space. they let people have free run of their business. they brewed an awesome beer and sold it. what should they have done? 4oz bottles to ensure that everyone, maybe, got some?

stop fucking showing up to these events 2-3 hours early, waiting in long lines, driving the hype and making everyone try to compete to get there earlier and earlier. i wanted 15, too. saw the line out the door at 3 and realized it wasn't happening. didn't bother.

there were 10-12 incredible beers on tap to make up for it. it's just a beer. go, have fun, talk to friends and new people.. save the outrage for something more important.

or, you know, stop coming and ruining these things for the locals, family, friends and regular folks who just want to support the team and have a good time.

there were barrels of it behind the "special taps" serving area. i didn't get a pic to support that but there were two barrels of Exodue on top of some racks with a Nov (29?) 2012 date on them.

The event was awesome imo, great bottle share and great cw taps, didn't really see many people doing anything out of line.

Had another great anniversary party despite the few set backs. Showed up a little after 2pm and got my 4 15s, some BBCS, PM and BBBW. I somehow wasn't on the list for infected PM but that was no problem, I was allowed to trade it for non-15 beer and that was cool with me. It was kind of mysterious how the line in front of me grew once we got in the building, I always take note of who is around me in line and the line almost doubled in size. Whatever, people cut in beer lines all the time, just wasn't expecting it here. The lines for getting 1414 and 15 on tap were rediculous! I almost felt bad for those people. There was so many other awesome beers on tap, didn't feel like more line waiting.
    Highlights for me:
-The food was outstanding! Had to stop myself from overeating, so good, and no lines! Sorry Josh knocking your sandwich on the floor.
-The taplist, I drank soooo much Exodus.
-The drunk lady talking about how many 15's she was able to buy and then dropping one of them on the floor.
-All the cool people, of course.
-The CW crew was awesome as always, thanks guys you did a great job. If I lived closer I would help clean up.
    -The extra bathrooms.
Even though this event gets crazier every year it is still my favorite beer event, and I will definatley be there next year. The days of 10-15 of us in the BA room sharing awesome beers and getting to know eachother are long gone, but it is what it is. Unless the release next year is a sour or Y2K aged in some crazy barrels I might just skip line waiting and get right to the drinking!
Looks like theres a few people upset with how things went, and people were kind of grumpy they didn't get bottles. I'm sorry you didn't get bottles but I don't agree with pointing fingers at CW. They're not a big operation and I would rather have the employees serving beer than babysitting the greedy beer geeks cutting and going through the line twice.

So, did anyone else take notice of the barrels hanging out behind high end taps? There was Exodus barrels! And there was a pair that had "BB 7/10/12 inoc w/ EX" What the hell were those?

And for the people that got their late, don't come if you don't wanna get shut out and bitch about it, my friend was the first to be denied when it sold out. He didn't care though he had a good time and I gave him a bottle anyways as well as some other friends. Honestly I only waited about 50 minutes outside, it wasn't bad at all.

Some really harsh comments being throw out on both sides of the argument today.
I was one of those people that waited in line for "2-3" hours. I have no control over what other people deem worthy or not. A brewery that I really like, and have supported for years, released a beer that I wanted, so I drove 5 hours one way, and I wasn't about to show up at 2:45 and miss out.
The dude working the door was nice enough to let me use the bathroom inside, I was invited in by numerous "VIP's", and had others offer to buy me 2 bottles from the "VIP" session...I not only did not buy two bottles while inside using the bathroom, I didn't get any free "VIP" pours, and I certainly did not lobby anyone to buy me two bottles early.
Upon entering the event, we got our bottle within 30 minutes. So all in all, I probably spent about 1 hour less in line that the last person to get 15, so what does it matter if I'm waiting outside or inside?

The party was awesome. It was a bit crammed inside, but after people got their bottles, it thinned out a bit, and wasn't all that bad. Again, just had to find from some room and stay out of the way. There was plenty of room behind the bottling line/bottle share area/etc etc.
The staff handled themselves great. They were doing their best with a hugely packed/successful party. I think if they would have split some of the specialty tappings up among the three tap stations, it could have spread some of those lines out.
I met a whole bunch of very friendly, caring, and generous BA's and CW regulars. Everyone was very nice, the overall mood of the party was very jovial, and everyone was pretty chill.

If I'm one of those people that ruined the party for the regulars, or people that think they are more deserving of some elbow room in CW than I am, I apologize. Alot of people came for the bottle release, alot of people came for the party, and alot of people came for both. If you think that one group made it terrible for any other group, you should probably contract your "hometown" brewery, and let them know that you think maybe they should do the bottle sale a different day, and save the anniversary party for only the worthy.

Cheers to those that shared bottles with us, enjoyed themselves, and added to the great atmosphere.

    Wow.

Imagine that the guys running a SMALL brewery, allow a bunch of beer geeks to come to their party, and bring their own beer, only to have these same people bitch about the event.

    Just, wow.

Paul, Anello, Kevin and the rest of the crew have ALWAYS been gracious and generous hosts. They've gone out of their way to take care of us. For the past 5 years, they've even given us our own space. Of course, when this all started, we were a small group who genuinely appreciated what they did for us and we did our best to make sure we didn't wear out our welcome. It looks like those days are over.

Reading this thread makes me ashamed to be associated with this group.

Shoutout to the person who opened my backpack and stole a bottle of 15 and 3 zombie dusts(15 sold out about 20 people in front of me. I was lucky enough to buy 2 bottles from a local at cost). Thanks for leaving me 1, buddy.

Aside from that, I had a great time. Awesome event. Id go again but show up a couple hours early.

Thanks to everyone who brought delicious beers for the bottle share

As I read all this love for the event I keep wondering if it's the same event I was at. I spent over 2 hrs waiting in line to get my 15 then an hour in line to get 1414 which ran out before I got some then had to stand for another hour to get some 15 on tap. 4 hrs of standing for 1 cup of beer and 4 bottles of 15. Then there were people cutting in line at the tap release times for 1414 and 15. I'm grateful to have been able to get some 15 but this was anything but a "great event". It was poorly run and poorly executed on so many levels I don't even know where to begin. I'm guessing the people saying "let's cut Central Waters some slack" were the ones who either snuck into the VIP or were a guest of the VIP and got to drink all the 15 they wanted. For the rest of us it was a battle to get anything at this event.

I was the guy right in front of you with my buddy. I was absolutely livid. On a brighter note, got to try the Brewhouse coffee stout which was absolutely fabulous.
