Know how I know someone didn't read my entire post? I also state the positives of increased beer interest and purchasing but I should have stated it is sad in making it difficult to gain the hyped beers but I believe it makes the overall quality and availability increase. TX is just slow on the gun, which makes me miss the west coast.

I did read your whole post. It was the first part I had a problem with, which is why I quoted it.

Anyone who is so miss guided to think something is automatically the best really is deluded and a fool. I am here for a specific reason in which TX provides the best opportunity. The opportunity does not make it the best state, nor does the west coast having better beer availability make it better. The stupidity in your comment just makes you an idiot.

Then I apologize I should have been more concise in that first sentence as I do agree with you but am also saddened at the same time.

They do this a lot, actually. I have seen them have stacks of cases of limited stuff in the back of the beer section near the windows and you walk up and they grab you the limit and you walk away. I guess the level of respect us consumers have for the systems has decreased so now they have to do it like this.

    People are assholes.

I love how Azzy has become a verb.

On another note, why doesn't Deschutes just increase production ?

It gets attention because of, frankly, us. This website is quite popular and craft beer is a trend. So people see a line at Specs and news vans outside so they go check it out and learn its about a beer. They then look the beer up online and stumble onto various websites about craft beers and then they find BA and they go to their regional section and see all these posts about how damn hard it is to get ____ beer and they join in on the hunt. Regardless of how much they like the beer or not, the hunt becomes fun and addicting.

Remember at one point none of us knew about good beer.

Exactly. I always love people that have been registered for a year or two complaining about all the newcomers and hype!

All hobbies are like this. People get into something, then want the rare and hard to get, making it even harder to get for the people that have been around. That's life. Still 100% better than the old days when we didn't get shit in Texas!

I've traded PLENTY of our inferior beer from Texas for much of the best that the west coast ,and the rest of the country, has to offer. Elitist posts such as yours don't go over well even if you're politely criticizing a region or in this case our state. I completely disagree with you when you say Texas doesn't have any competition for Abyss...that's nonsense (have you tried Whiskey Barrel Rodeo or BB Hellfighter?)

All I know is that the increase in sales has made Texas into a very appealing market to brewers to distribute to.

See Firestone Walker, Founders, Southern Tier, etc.

Yeah, What he said... I'm not the owner! (Damn, I wish... one can dream, right?) But I am the Beer guy.
I'll let ya'll know when it gets here. And as far as being Vague, you can thank your wonderful local alcohol distributors for that. Trying to get a straight answer from any of those cats is like attempting to get blood from a stone. Cheers!

Not a knock on you, but I see a lot of "beer guys" from certain stores (Specs) that just repeat whatever their distributor tells them. So by joining us here you'll be able to call the bullshit flag on your distro rep cause you'll be better informed.

That's the Idea, starkmarvelo... I've been in the alcohol biz for years now, and I'm sick of all the bullshit we have to take as consumers, and retailers of good beer. Thanks for the nod.

On a completely unrelated note, Texas will be seeing Founders' and Firestone walker before June... Anyone just pee their pants?

I'll admit that i haven't been registered here long, but that doesn't mean I haven't been into beer for a long while.
