No he didn't. He might have less than a case for sale, but he didn't get a partial case from the distributor.

Well he technically got less than a case haha

I was talking to him about it and he mentioned that the distributor guy bought one of the bottles as soon as he stepped in with the case. So he technically only received less than a case haha

This is the first year ever I have not driven around all over town trying to hunt this bottle down. I'm can honestly say I'm enjoying not going on the hunt for once. I think I'll open a MZ and fire up the PS3 to celebrate myself finally "letting go". It's a relaxing and liberating feeling

1 or 2 bottles for each member of the wine and beer section would be an entire case at a place like Central Market...they have at least 4 full time staff plus some beer geeks in other areas of the store..shit goes quick

It's crazy that the guy that started the thread (me) won't be able to get any.

I was talking a couple bottles per case, not per employee. Doling out one each to the beer geeks that are interested still means some of it hits the shelves, and because it does go quick (this year moreso than ever), spreading it around as much as possible seems like the better option. However, since that sounds like exactly what happened anyway, it's probably irrelevant.

I just take my lunch and use it for beerhunting.

Pretty flexible so I can usually leave at whatever time I feel like taking a lunch

Went by Whole Foods in Sugar Land... the beer manager is off til tomorrow.

also went by the HEB in Pearland and had a nice little argument with the beer manager there. He said he should be getting a case this week, but it's already "reserved" for people on the waiting list. He tried to give me this bs about how the waiting list is intended to keep people from hoarding, and to take care of those who can't get off work in time to get a bottle.

I told him the hoarding thing is VERY easy to fix, just keep it in the back like Specs did and limit it to 1-2 bottles per person. PLUS having waiting lists may make 12 people feel special and like they're getting taken care of by the establishment, BUT the other 100+ people that come in asking for it and being told they can't buy it because they aren't on a special list are going to be very pissed off, especially if the product is physically there and they're ready to make a purchase.

There's been several times I missed special releases because I couldn't get off work, I never blamed the place selling it.

Bro I called WF Sugar Land a few hours ago, spoke with Jamie, and she told me they're all sold out.

Which one of you scoundrels walked out of D&Q with the last bottle of Abyss right as I got there? You were a white guy. Wearing shorts I think. I was wearing scrubs, and strongly considered clubbing you and taking your Abyss.

Well a store near me just got 2 cases of Black Ops of all things, picked up a bottle @ 21.99. Might get my BA Stout fix after all.
