I talked to the reps this weekend at the NJ Beer Expo and they said they are starting distribution in March / April time frame! About time I can get (hopefully) my blackout stout!

I have seen it all over SNJ (while on vacation) but very few stores in NNJ or CNJ carry GL. Only store i can remember seeing it at on a regular basis is Wine Library in Springfield.

I haven't seen it there in a while, but last summer, they had maybe 4 different styles.

The only Great Lakes wholesaler in NJ previously was Kramer Beverage out of Hammonton, whose normal distribution region is Atlantic, Cape May, Cumberland, Salem, Camden, Gloucester counties - but there are legal ways for out of county retailers to also get the beer.

I wasn't so crazy about how Kohler dropped the ball on Narwhal, but I guess we'll have to wait and see how they handle this one.

unfortunately Sandy had a huge hand in what happened with Narwhal and Kohler. Don't see anything like that happening again

That's good to know- very understandable, actually, now that I get what happened.

while the ordering window was open for Narwhal, Sandy came in and closed Kohler for a week. When they were open again, SN was actually out of Narwhal. After talking through a few different distributors, they were sent 15 cases and 10 sixtels to work with. It sucks, I know.

Just an fyi - when GL came to eastern PA a few years ago, their initial drop was very close to the best by date.
