Jackie O's 3/24 Release - Vanilla Dark Apparition, Baklava Braggot, Kentucky Monk

Hells yes! Got to try a sneak peak of the Baklava Braggot when I visited the brewery last weekend. It was tasting pretty damn fine!

 

I would love to go, see Urbancaver and the super friends in his environment getting tipsy, but I might not be able to given my diss. defense a week+ later. We will see depending on how many changes my committee asks for. That being said, I will certainly be there for the second release this year.

Dammit! I'm going to miss this one unfortunately. I have had so much fun at the past 2 releases and seeing all you guys again. It has blown all the CA releases I've been to right out of the water. But I'll be sure to see you all at the next one! Oh, and BTW, I'll put it out there now: ISO each of these 3 beers!

That weekend is no good for me. I plan on making it to a JO's release this year though... I had a blast a month ago when I visited the brewpub!

 

Had a chance to try Baklava Braggot at EBF this year. Nose was stellar! Didn't all come across in the taste, but that could have been my demolished pallet at that point.

 

The Staff logo is awesome. I wonder how many releases there will be after this one.

 

BOOM! Can't wait. Bakalava Braggot was great on draft at the anniversary party. Can't wait to see if a staff beer is ready in time! Anyone know if Winter Wino is still on or will be on?

 

Really looking forward to this batch of Vanilla Bean Rum Barrel Dark Apparition. Anyone know what Rum barrel they use?

 

It was on last Friday when I was there. Very bizarre beer. Definitely something different!

 

Apparently I missed the boat on this staff thing. Anyone give me the 411 please.

 

Basically like Reserve Society, with special beers and discounts with membership. It was something they rolled out at the 6th Anniversary Extravaganza, only for the first 100 people to sign up. Can't remember off the top of my head what the special beers are going to be.

 

I think I remember 2 of them: Bourbon Barrel Oil of Aphrodite & some sort of Kriek

 

How long do bottles last? I work that day and wouldn't be able to make it until around 7.

 

Last time they sold nine or ten different beers, so it took a while to packaged them all, and second sales started around 3 or 4 p.m. I would guess that they will be sold out by 7 this time around, given that they're only selling three beers.

 

Damn.
