    Doh! I almost stopped by the Shell station since I was in the area, we were at the cross country meet also!

    My jaw dropped when I read this. I'd shit myself if I saw Abyss in a gas station around here.

    Good, but not great. As I've mentioned before, this beer tastes best to me with a year or more age.

    Have to agree, either my tastes are changing or this one is sweeter than previous years. I popped one of mine to try with a friend to guesstimate age time and we both felt it definitely needed 2 years +. It is sweeter to me than previous versions but a very nice blend of flavors which will age well. Just not looking forward to having to move cross country in the next year with my beer collection.

    Mind you I am hitting Seattle this weekend so if I find it on tap I will of course grab some.

    If you are in downtown, check Collins Pub. Very good tap list and the food fare is nice. Good atmosphere as well.

    Saw a guy get a growler fill of Abyss at Black Star...could have been an accident, not sure. Saw the other guys behind the bar say something to her after she started pouring it. BTW their Cantankerous Dockhand is very tasty...porter brewed with chipotle, ancho and guajillo chilies, vanilla bean, cinnamon and cocoa nibs. If they had half growlers I would have left with one...
