I'm going to be in town next week, so I just thought I'd throw this out there. I love Russian River's beers, and Deviation is one of my biggest whales, but it's tough to stomach dropping $90 on a bottle just for myself. I was wondering if another Seattle BA or two might be interested in meeting me at Bottleworks to split a bottle. Ideally this would be next Thursday (2/21), but I will be in town until the 25th, so conceivably any night could work.

I saw you'll be there real quickly for the BW Release party. I'll be there at 11 a.m. along with Dan (Mages64) and he had previously said that he'd like to. I wouldn't mind having it again.

    Cheers,
    Ryan

Yeah, I'm a little worried about trying to make it happen at the Anniversary Party, as I'll need to hit the road by 12:15 at the latest to catch my flight and don't want to have to chug my Deviation as I'm running out the door.

Well, opens at 11 am...that's not too short to have a little Deviation. Ill be there...we can decide then if you'd like

Yeah, I guess my concern is that I really have no idea how many people will be there or fast the line will move for bottles. I've been to some releases in the past where they take their sweet time. It would be a bummer if I didn't have my bottles in hand until like 11:45 without even ordering a Deviation.

Hmmm...If 5 of us split a bottle, that's about a 5 oz pour for each. With the cost of the bottle, the tax, plus the tip for the BW boys, that works out to about $20 a person for 5 oz. Hmmm. No thanks.

Last year the line before opening was about 20 people. Might be a bit more this time because it's Cascade instead of Stone, but I don't see buying bottles taking more than 20-25 minutes tops.

The TSA limit on liquids carried on board airplanes is as many 3.4oz (100ml) containers as you can fit inside a 1-quart ziploc bag. So you're all set. And a pretty delicious plane ride home as well.

Ah, right. Thanks for the reminder about why I don't chase walez, tick, or trade.

Two years ago, one of the Matts personally poured me a glass of Deviation on the house. I prefer that method.

Let's get 90 people to split it 90 ways. $1/person gets you .29 oz of Deviation!

That sounds literally like the Hop Scotch event a friend of mine talked me into going to in a couple weeks. $50 for 7 beer/wine tasting tokens plus either one NW whiskey flight featuring 6 – ¼ oz tastes OR one Scotch flight featuring 5 – ¼ oz tastes. How much is ¼ oz anyway?

Good thing I'm going just to have some fun and support a cause I don't really care about.
