Yep, I think I was the first in line. Can't wait to try it.

Yeah, my beer hunting buddy text me this morning with a pic of BB2 - I was like "wtf?!?"

BB1 was a nice try at the style, but terrible..probably won't be looking to get any BB2, even though their Christmas ale is their best beer they release on a regular basis..just don't like the barrel choice...that other version you have working..that's that shit I like...

St. Arnold's, if you read this, please take back your two month old Endeavour from shelves, release a fresh batch.

Had DR5 today at Hay Merchant...hello oxidized.

I could not disagree more here. BB1 was very good, not great. The small tastes of BB2 I had was very good. I am looking forward to this release, and DR5 was not oxidized at all. I have me some oxidized DR's, including 5 from my own stash. Maybe I am just used to that, but the DR5 I had today was excellent. In fact way better than the bitter, burnt and acrid 2012 Abyss. Just my opinion of coarse :grinning:

DR5 today was definitely 2 years too old. Oxidizidation was noticeable. But it was better than the DR4 I had at Alamo on Tuesday. That was not good at all.

Ya, I had it at alamo as well. It was far past its prime.

I saw DR5 be poured at Hay Merchant tonight and it looked like thick Texas oil. Didn't look good at all. Merchant was awesome tonight.

Sadly, I'm pretty sure most of the DR's at this point are undrinkable.

I had dr5 a few months back and is was damn good. Though, you did say "most" and I haven't had them all, so I suppose I'd agree.

Latest comment from a trusted drinker says DR1 is still good. I should know soon.

You dont want DR7. I had one recently that was infected. Slightly sour and just a mess that fell apart with being aged too long. With DR1-7 it is going to be hit or miss at this point. Screw top caps are not meant for extended aging. I agree with everyone saying that DR5 is past its prime.

DR7 is not infected, it just tastes like crap with some age on it. Not every DR has aged well, because not every DR was good. Age does not automatically make a sub par beer better. That being said, DR8, 9, and 10 are all drinking excellent right now. Though you are right, they probably won't last that much longer.

Not all DR7s taste awful. That said, it's a toss up opening a bottle if it will be good or bad.

As champ103 said, DR7 is not infected, just didn't age well. In regards to screw caps are not meant for aging, I thought this too a long time ago. Last year at CBC, Craft Brewers Conference, I spoke with some leading analysts and scientists in the crown and adhesive fields regarding oxygen ingress in pop top and screw cap. Everyone of them said that pop tops don't prevent oxygen ingress anymore than screw caps. I can understand if people have aesthetic issues, but I'm a man of science and it doesn't lie.
