Oxbow Brewing. Anyone been?

They are doing a Beer Dinner at Three Penny here on the 24th, and the kegs were delivered this past week, but no word on what will be on, or a menu yet. Now that Rob Evans is da man after Chopped Champions, I suppose $90 for the Duckfat Beer Dinner may seem reasonable...sorta.

3 penny had freestyle #3 on today. Didn't get to try it hopefully it'll still be in in a few days.

 

Opened a growler of Freestyle #13 for the Nor'easter last weekend - tasty!

 

Had Sasuga at the brewery today and it is damn fine. Friendliest people you will ever meet, what a great time.

 

The first Duckfat/Oxbow dinner was enough to make Rob Evans "da man", and get me to spend 90 for the second one.

 

Has anyone made it over to Oxbow lately? I am heading up there July 27th and was wondering if they have any new releases anyone has tried.

Funkhaus is on draft - make sure you get a growlette! (They don't fill big ones with that one, though.) Loretta the grisette is a great summer (big) growler choice too.

 

Original Deluxe, their Stillwater collaboration, was on when I was last there, but that was back in June, so it may be gone now. There were also a few bottles of the Sausuga Saison still on the shelf.

 

I made my first visit for the Sasuga bottle release back in May. Looking forward to the 2nd year anniversary bash in August.

 

I hit Oxbow last month. They have a beautiful rustic tap room, lots of spaces to sit and drink, and some delicious beers. I liked everything I tried and just want more.

 

If you are talking about the Goods from the Woods anniversary party, it's usually done in the fall...at least the last one was. It was in November. Are they doing an event in August to mark the actual date they began production?

 

I was just there on Saturday. Had FPA, Loretta, Original Deluxe and Funkhaus on tap. Also had BA FPA and Sasuga bottles for sale. Looks like Freestyle 16 also just came out so I imagine that will also be available as well.

 

When I went to the Sasuga bottle release I asked Tim from Oxbow if they had anything else coming up and he said they were having the event for their 2 year anniversary in August. When I went to Noshbow last month I asked Jake from Oxbow about it and he told me it would be August 11, which is a Sunday.

I just checked their Facebook page and it says details are coming next week. It also mentions Goods From the Woods will be Saturday, Oct 26.

 

Stopped into Oxbow today for 1st time - great people and great beer! Funkhaus is sample only, but they got plenty of good stuff. Wish they went to Connecticut!

No problem. Jake also said they were going to allow people to camp overnight so it sounds like it's going to be an all day/all night thing.
