On that, I do hope that those who are voting for Hop Hog are doing so having actually had both beers.

 

It wouldn't be a proper cup without some controversy, now would it...

Funkonnay was a mess. I don't see how it could possibly be considered better then Hop Hog, but to each their own.

 

Just wanted to point out that the approach of "not voting in a matchup because you haven't had one of the beers" is just as flawed as "voting in a matchup where you haven't had one of the beers"

 

Entirely disagree. If you are going to vote, I would hope that it is based on a first hand understanding of the beers. Sure, you may think that Beer X is the best beer ever brewed but if you have never had the beer you are comparing it to it is a false comparison.

@Lukie - everyone perceives these things differently. I really enjoyed it at Beervana. You have had the beer and I have no problem with you expressing an opinion that the beer was bad.

 

If only one or two people has had a beer and they think it's the best thing ever, then logically that beer would take out the whole comp based on the fact that no-one else is permitted to vote against it as they haven't had it.
