Hey fellas, been on here while now and havent had much info to contribute...so to break that streak.
Grapevine Beer and Wine has
-maybe 8 or 9 BA Rasputins
-5 or 6 Black Ops
-Oaked Arrogant Bastard on sale for 10.49 (cheapest I have ever seen it)
-3 or 4 cases of Newcastle Winter IPA for 4.99/6er (not great but not a bad beer to keep on hand for noncraft friends)
-Ommegang Rare Vos for 8.99
-Victory at Sea
and a few other goodies...I keep hoping that they wont be able to move the Black Ops so that they will put it on sale...

Nabbed a straggler bottle of Abyss and Buddhas Brew tonight...cus that's how I roll!

Popped a Pechish Woods to celebrate! Anybody else find anything fun this weekend or drink anything new? Any straggler bottles of Rahr BBWW around?

 

There were STRAGGLER bottles of Abyss? Good lord.

 

Right place right time. Getting to walk thru the cooler is a nice perk. One was on the top rack.

This will make me feel better if I miss out of BA Bigfoot..I don't expect to strike out but more than 2 bottles might be tough and considering the price I might be happy with that..given its relative distribution area and total bottles its not really a tough thing to get in a trade later.

After your little ensemble of BA beers I'm just waiting to see if KBS gets here. Hindsight the depth it had over the other 2 was pretty spectacular

I will be extreamly shocked if kbs makes it, and it if does, it will be extreamly small amounts. Smaller than abyss and what not...but founders may throw me for a loop, considering their throwing alot of other people for a loop with the KBS release ticket policies.
Good for you on finding that extra bottle of abyss. Dont open it any time soon(based on what Ive heard)

 

I swear it's the cave aging - some may say it's a gimmick, but a damn effective one. Heck, I have a picture of Founders' KBS cave as my desktop background.

 

Not that they compare but another thing I realized after having those 3 beers was just how awesome Marshal Z is for a non BA beer. I might have to trade for a case this year and forgo chasing BA Stouts.

 

My wife was at FW Total Wine on Saturday and said there was Funk Metal.

I asked why she didn't buy any.

 

Marshal Z kick ass. It's the most viscous beer I have had.

 

Leaving CM Royal, picked up a couple BA Rasputin $19.99/bottle. Beer guy didn't seem to care about me buying two. There were still a few left.

Yes Gross is right. But I agree, it's a tick!

 

Its actually a good beer for a hot summer day after mowing the lawn. Light and crisp, without being too much. Thats how I use Shiner Ruby Redbird as well - rehydrating!
